The IRS finalized its “No Tax on Tips” rule but excluded income from adult content.
Creators can still deduct up to $25K in tips (2025–2028), but “pornographic activity” doesn’t qualify, creating a clear double standard.

Thanks to everyone who joined in WI to raise alarm bells about the bill and/or formally oppose it, including @eff.org, @woodhullfreedom.bsky.social @acluofwi.bsky.social @fightforthefuture.org.
We can and should protect kids online, and FSC will work toward a better bill next year.
Last week, when the bill was sent to the Governor for signature, Free Speech Coalition sent the governor a letter calling for a veto and laying out some of the key concerns. We got word this morning that the governor would veto.
FSC has been actively engaged on AB 105 since last year. FSC Policy Director @mikestabile.bsky.social met with legislators in Madison last year to discuss the legal and technological issues with the bill, including a ban on VPN traffic, and to advocate for more effective solutions.
This afternoon, WI governor Tony Evers strongly VETOED a Republican age-verification bill, AB 105, calling it "an intrusion into the privacy of Wisconsin residents.”
A huge victory for FSC and other civil liberties groups who fought this regressive antiporn law!

In the case against Titan Websites, Teeter ruled that the plaintiff failed to show the site "purposefully directed its activities at Kansas."

Incredibly timely and powerful report out today from @publicpubics.bsky.social and @internetmaggie.com laying out the debanking challenges faced by adult industry workers in Canada
FSC's @mikestabile.bsky.social says new laws taxing adult content function as a form of censorship.
"A tax on speech limits that right to those who can afford it... Taxing them because of imagined harms is not only dangerous to our industry, it sets a dangerous precedent for government power."
FSC's @mikestabile.bsky.social explains why the SCREEN Act, and bills like it, are a Trojan Horse for more widespread censorship.

Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.
