Would this work for traffic calming or would North Americans systematically drive into the poles? I’m afraid I think I know the answer.

Wayfinding at Union Station is slowly improving but it could differentiate step-free from staircase access. If you can’t use stairs, good luck finding the entrance to the subway. And no, looking it up online or asking someone should not be needed. @ttcriders.bsky.social

Great first step by the TTC and the City of Toronto to mark streetcar boarding areas with paint, but remains the problem of ramp deployment. Kraków’s solution is more effective in both regards: it forces cars to slow down and provides level boarding.

'There is no B.C. coast. It's Canada's coast': Sask. premier supports Alta. pipeline proposal | CBC News Sask. Premier Scott Moe repeated his support for the proposed pipeline between Alberta and the northern B.C. coast earlier this week by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.

Then let’s institute national energy royalties. You can’t have “Canada’s coast” and “provincial energy resources”. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

What if streetcars were as good as subways? Take a look at this trip in Budapest. The tram - the longest in the world at 56m (183 ft) comes every 2 minutes, and takes one minute less than the subway even though the origin and destination are the same. @ttcriders.bsky.social #topoli #onpoli

It’ll be interesting to see if English Canada’s dependency on and deference to the US for its entertainment will evolve.

In 1967, Sweden changed the direction of traffic from left (like in the UK) to right (like in Continental Europe). To this day, I am fascinated by the fact that commuters at Stockholm Central Station are still walking on the left.

Would it be too much to ask to use the context on a page to show me the keyboard for the right language, #Apple? If an entire page is in German, I don’t need the French keyboard, even if I was writing in French in another app. #youhaveonejob

On this Kraków street, the tram in the opposite direction circulates in mixed traffic, against the curb. On the right, the centre lane is reserved for streetcars. The general traffic lane is elevated to the level of the sidewalk to slow down cars and provide level boarding. @ttcriders.bsky.social

More at rush hour. But it should be a tram. However, voters turned down the conversion 2014 (the whole canton votes and as usual everyone hates the capital).

In Canada, #housing isn’t just shelter—it’s a tax shelter. This skews incentives, fuels speculation, and makes renting socially undesirable. Would we obsess over property values if we had other real ways to save? blogs.lse.ac.uk/lselondon/fi...

The accountability rests with elected officials who should manage their agencies to deliver and be accountable for outcomes. In particular, the City should manage mobility holistically - roads, parking and transit.
