Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

Rameses!
Happy birthday to one of my favourite haters, Charles Darwin
Fantastic. Great move. Well done Angus
I'd like to acknowledge that at this stage in cultural, political, and climate events, Hello Kitty Island Adventure is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting when it comes to my mental healthcare.
Running around with my little pudding dog buddy and picking up coconuts is
unexpectedly therapeutic.
Ah! I used to read your blog back in the day. It is so good to see you!!
You’re not crazy. The anti-trans movement is not organic; it was funded by pedophilic billionaires like Jeffrey Epstein who backed a network of conservatives to accuse the same people they were sexually abusing of being the real danger. @madycast.com exposes the truth in our in-depth report.
It took four years to get in to the public hospital pain clinic, which is ridiculous, but now I'm in, I'm having a really good experience.
I had a med review late last year and the new meds are more effective and have fewer side effects. 24 years in and it's a treat to have adequate pain management
Pain clinic today (medical thing, not kink thing), where I met the physio and pain psychologist who'll be working with me.
I decided to brave explaining that CBT approaches (psychology thing, not kink thing) often don't sit well with me, and wonderfully, she's on the same page. Feeling optimistic!
When I spoke to Buzzfeed and ASU as a witness to Krauss' sex pest behaviour, I was largely driven by my fury at his misogyny and entitlement. Finding out he's a transphobe as well, I'm even more pleased the very tiny part I played in his reputational and academic demise. What absolute scum.
And the under 16s social media ban didn't even ban Roblox, which poses a known legitimate ongoing child safety risk.
The esafety commissioner believes Roblox will come to the table and be accountable for the heinous shit that takes place on their servers.
Wild.

Hello from Australia. Really not thrilled that tech companies have been demanding government ID and face scans to enact the under 16 social media ban, or that so many of us are seemingly okay with it.
Thankfully my queer ND teens have found workarounds, so they haven't lost their community.
"This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it ... I was there".

Shared with us from Sydney happening now. He had his hands up.
And this was my second time.
I ended up reading about common bacteria in cats' mouths while I was waiting for mine to be cultured and ewww. Love the beasties dearly, but no... no biteys.
Currently, I'm also nursing an infected broken tooth and waiting for root canal surgery on Friday. For which I'm unfortunately requiring some somewhat gnarly pain medication, so I'm hoiking myself back off of social media until my mind is clear. 👋
Three weeks ago, one of my cats had a panic and bit my finger. Surgery, three days in hospital, and lots of abx, and it's healing well, but I've still got a couple of weeks of daily dressings and a month until I'm clear to return to hydrotherapy and gardening.
Don't mess with cat bites, friends.
That said, as much as I love my quiet existence, I'd speak out again in a heartbeat.
Appearing in the Epstein files because he and Krauss regarded myself and others like me as a threat to them and the systems that allowed them to get away with heinous behaviour is a badge of honour.
A screenshot of a search in the Epstein files for the name "Jo Alabaster" with several results
This week has been an incredibly surreal week. Given that the 2016 Australian Skeptics Convention was the last time I attended a public event, and that I stopped podcasting, reporting, and using social media shortly afterwards, this feels like a previous self catching up with me.
Wishing all the folks who distanced themselves from and/or attacked me over my speaking to Buzzfeed and ASU about witnessing Lawrence Krauss being a sex pest a very uncomfortable realisation about precisely who they were defending. Very proud to have supported Mel.

Hang a raisin in a tree
AI will never be able to do what I do, walking around the neighbourhood bothering cats
I've had a rough day, and I think I've earned this.
GOAT PAJAMA PARTY.
Goats are from @sunflowerfarm.bsky.social in Cumberland, Maine (via their YT). Bless their chaotic little hearts and tiny pink noses.
I hope he stays on the Dark web with the other ‘Celebrity Atheists’
Anyone that wants to ‘buy me a coffee’ for the 18 months of work plus international travel (including flying to the US from Oz at my own expense) I had to undertake to get the complaint then Buzzfeed articles up after ASU protected Lawrence Krauss, here’s my PayPal:
Looking also at all you scientists who took his money after his initial conviction.

Darling little dog. I'm so sorry.
With Fahed from Broaster in Katoomba! I couldn't love this more.
