If you have the means, please donate to the Trans Continental Pipeline right now. They are a Colorado based org that helps trans people relocate and they are overwhelmed with requests. Colorado borders Kansas, and TCP has the infrastructure to help get people out.

New Work by Gary Larson | TheFarSide.com Get an exclusive look at brand new cartoons and artwork from cartoonist Gary Larson, creator of the iconic comic strip The Far Side®.

It's kinda cool that Gary Larson is doing new cartoons because he picked up a digital tablet, taught himself how to use it, and it made him love drawing again.

Ed is talking about journalism but this is essentially the same advice I give to students/others looking to build a portfolio to break into sports analytics. Do work you find interesting; you’ll do better stuff. You’ll ask the next question. You’re more likely to do something novel or unique.

Gutted to hear today's news that the hockey world has lost Bruce McCurdy. A great writer, and a guy whose love of the game bled through all of his work. RIP Bruce.

Darkly funny that vaccines have worked so well for so long that folks have straight forgotten what it means to catch a real disease that could kill you instead of mildly inconvenience you.

This isn't an exaggeration. Before Cockpit Resource Management became a thing, captains who acted like, and were deferentially treated like macho gods of the skies did things like let their planes run out of fuel or fly straight into the ground, and the other officers were too scared to stop them.

I had a walk today and thought about the relationship between civility, discomfort, and abuse.

Some of you know that “civility” is one of my hard “ugh” triggers. This thread will explain why.
