Benefit to the smaller curated library is less stuff to sift through during a live set. And I like the idea of the DJ library separate. But having the two copies on disk is a bit annoying to deal with. /2

DJ friends: How do you manage your digital DJ library? I am rebuilding my library in VirtualDJ so I have the opportunity to change my methods. Main collection is mostly FLAC. Prior DJ library was a curated subset in 320 mp3. /1

We just have to keep on keeping on and doing things with enthusiasm. 🤘

So in this case it’s not self doubt. But that is a factor in other contexts, for sure! Just gotta keep putting myself out there and doing the work!

I throw myself into VGM jam sessions to force my hand. Today I learned some additional tactics and strategies for playing in these less familiar scenarios. So in this case it’s not doubt as more recognizing I have a limited toolbox and working to add tools. More tools & practice = more confidence.

For me with the jam sessions it is a skill I need to develop. Reading sheet music and playing classical as a soloist or in an orchestra. while some things transfer, I don’t expect myself to be good at jamming because I have not spent the time working on that skill. (Cont)
