Did do instant oatmeal with fresh fruit & a splash of cream for awhile, last few years I was working, trying to lose weight.
But even with a ton of fruit it was barely tolerable.

I remember helping my mom saute onions, celery & garlic in butter & her telling me, "most recipes you make are going to start just like this."

Now I have to tell a story. HS I taught at had a Life Skills program that fed into a Hospitality certificate program. Every year, as a fundraiser, they sold these big ol' half gallon tubs of raw cookie dough.
You could take them home & bake as many or as few cookies at a time as you liked.
