To my friends and followers: No one wants this to happen less than I do, but this will be my last post on Bluesky. I'm giving up on social media, this is the last straw for me. Bluesky was supposed to be a social media platform that was *better*, a refuge from garbage fires like Twitter and Facebook. And for a while, I really thought it could be the future of social media. And it was fun, for a while. I loved the culture and the vibes, and I took another huge step on my journey of self-discovery thanks to the people here. However, i truly believe that this platform has failed its original mission and failed the users it was supposed to protect. I can't in good conscience continue to support it, so I have to leave it behind. Censorship of art is ALWAYS wrong. The people who carry it out are NEVER the good guys. No artists are expendable. Even if I did buckle under and follow the new TOS policies, I no longer trust Bluesky's moderators to enforce them objectively. These are the same people who allow V*nce and S*gnal to post vile shit that causes measurable harm to marginalized people, and who ban people who speak out in protest when they do. I'm truly grateful to the 2,000 people who thought i was worth following, who liked and shared my posts.
