If the trends from the past 30+ years hold, we were expecting to see a single zettaflop computer around 2035. Aggregated compute (100s of supercomputers before 2030)

Really honest question: what part is extremely fake? I did not follow the topic closely and right now there is so much disinformation to catch up

I travelled 27 hrs, fought endless visa issues to give this talk for our award-winning paper at #CHI2026.

Your turn to show up 📍 P1, Room 112, Apr 15 (Wed), 12 noon. But why?

I wish the didn't impact every knowledge worker. Sadly, it does, and we need to talk about it.

Working on a quick post about how training AI models doesn't actually emit that much, and that becomes clear if instead of comparing it to your individual lifestyle, you just compare it to the creation of other popular consumer products

Aging was supposed to happen in base 12, not base 10.

You're actually meant to be a kid until 12, a teenager until 24, a 20-something until you're 36, and in your thirties until you're 48. Your 40s should last until you're 60.

That's why every decade milestone (30, 40, etc.) feels premature.

I don’t think this is the way. There are options like DVS, makefile, or just hashes to make sure intermediate data is fresh.

I binged-saw Sugar last night, and after the alcohol thing I jokingly said in the first episode "wow maybe they are aliens hahahaha". What a crappy way to build suspense over a really bad idea
