International flights are much more infrequent so if you miss it you might be out a night at the hotel or more, vs any of the 100 different daily NYC-ATL directs

It’s the combination of high neuroticism, high openness to experience, and low agreeableness that does it IMO
I have made this joke before but if you want a working definition of Blueskyism you could do a lot worse than “arriving at the airport 3+ hours early to a domestic flight and getting upset other people don’t”
This is just another one of those things where liking Frieren or K-On or whatever is perfectly fine but having it as your avatar on X The Everything App means you're a neo-nazi who wants to molest their hypothetical younger sister, right?
Hey! I bought a sub-$100 bottle just this week, the superb G.B. Burlotto Barolo normale.
The last one before that was, uh... uhhh...
Mid-January?
Wow, I’m stunned. I can’t believe you’ve been a white woman this entire time.
The point is that he was able to successfully create and run what is now the most important organ of the right wing media system with 30 guys and can maintain that more or less indefinitely now. Roger Ailes needed thousands!
The reason it’s a far right sewer is because Elon Musk has total control of the company and is deliberately trying to make it one, it’s not like it naturally degenerated into one because they fired the guy who was stopping it.
Core Twitter runs (buggy, but who cares) with like 30 guys now, they are losing money for reasons essentially orthogonal to the 95% headcount reduction.
The flip-flip side of this is that a not insignificant number of companies are going to do massive layoff and restricting and it will, you know, more or less work. Docusign doesn’t actually need 7,000 employees getting paid a billion of SBC!
This mf stole 122 of my likes, give them BACK
It’s crazy that the reason Clarence Thomas became a conservative is that while he was a black separatist radical student he lost his wallet on campus and the guy who found and returned it was John Bolton
Just like self driving cars, the discourse has been so throughly poisoned by Musk’s slapdash efforts that people are talking past each other. Other data centers do not power themselves exclusively via onsite gas turbines! Musk isn’t even allowed to do this, it’s illegal but he does it anyways!
Buddy… who do you think is gonna be the on site service guy living in my 8x12’ basement storage room?
Miele combi steam, 24” version
The stove is sitting in a box on the floor while I wait for the $7000 oven btw
Orrrrrr you could just buy an actual espresso machine?
LLMs have been a major source of text on the open web for years now and not only have models shown no deterioration they have massively improved by every metric. Denying this fact is untenable now.
If you’re still talking about model collapse in 2026 you are either a truly exotic S-tier statistics crank or functionally innumerate
Yes this is vagueposting, so sue me, I've had 27 highballs.
I would say that the most difficult skill in this business is understanding that market prices deserve a great amount of respect, but not infinite respect, and knowing when and when not to be deferential is much of the art of portfolio management
Using MODL instead of FA is pod shop cuckold behavior. Are you going to sit in a chair and watch them take up or down estimates?
What is your favorite IB command and why is it QUIZ <GO>?
i think i recognize enough of these people I am honor-bound to commit seppuku by sunrise
In both cases you can quibble a little bit if you're a hater- an electrical socket changes to a light switch in two cuts 15sec apart, and the prose in the proof is a little bit careless and needed polishing; but the velocity of improvement is clearly not slowing down.
Two AI updates I saw today:
1. Near-perfect consistent video generation via one Seedance prompt, taken from Twitter (the window reflections are very impressive)
2. GPT-5.4 has finally produced a proof from "the Book", solving a reasonably well-known number theory problem with a elegant new method.
Pretty much the "usual suspects", G-Max, Scharzhofberger, Muller-Catoir TBAs. The list is like 90% "every wine which sells for $1,000+ on current release" but 10% "tiny production stuff that can be found for $200" and I want to lock down the latter before I post anything publicly.
Top wine from Chile was Clos Apalta which was roughly 250th place. Still top 1% globally just not top 100.
The top 100 is just an incredibly tough nut to crack. To give two examples, neither Lafite Rothschild nor Mugnier Musigny made the cut!
Krauts are really punching above their weight for sure though, not only did they take first place overall, but also locked down #3, #4, #6, #16, and #19 with a very limited bench.
