We don't want to force someone to see something (that could be traumatic) before they have the opportunity to block/mute a specific type of content. This came up as part of a discussion with the folks beta testing.

Largely, we erred on the side of caution for this first iteration.

We're cool with educational, documentary, scientific, and artistic (ESDA) content because we are cool with eduction, documentaries, science, and art.

Labels so that people are choosing to see certain things (that are sometimes of a graphic nature).

When we started Gander, we wanted it to reflect Canadian values.

We got a lot of (valuable) pushback: what are Canadian values anyway?

The Charter already had this sorted out. Today marks 44 years since it was signed into law.

That's right -- while we're a benefit company, we raised our runway through an equity crowd fundraise.

Kickstarter but instead of merch you get equity in the company. It was well worth it and we're pleased with the results.

It was a really meaningful way to grow our community and fund Gander.

So sorry business goose! You deserve to be free.

Great question! We’ve curated a bunch of Canadian feeds, accounts and hashtags as a starting point. However this will evolve over time so users have more control.

We're excited to get it going too. Important for both accessibility and growth.

(It will be nice running the Gander accounts from a big screen too)

Things are cooking! Right now it's still beta testers. But we're so darned close. Keep an eye out :)

We also re-ignited ingestion from the #ATmosphere. Can't wait to enable posting TO it and allow users to further fine-tune their experience.

Oh, we did some STUFF in this release of Gander. It’s a doozie. Not because of any one feature, but because a lot of the core experience has been implemented as we originally intended. Feeds, discovery, structure, control, and conversation: the thin...

Just wrapped two sprints bringing us closer to the experience we've envisioned.

Are there kinks? Yep. But the update finally includes our manipulation-free FYP and expanded feed explorer.

We also did something a little nutty.
