Well that's it, I have just retired and don't feel like I want to invest in the stock market. Markets can go down and as I tried to say earlier, now feels as risky as fuck so whilst it might not be the most cost effective hedge against inflation, it's guaranteed.

But I am not interested in funding (risky) startups. But by all means, you crack on. I'll take my 3% tax free interest and use the capital as and when I need it. Nothing, absolutely nothing, would want me to invest in stocks given the current level of global clusterfuckendom.
Well, I am sitting along with my partner with cash in ISAs. I don't want to invest. I don't see the advantage for us in investing and possibly reducing our meagre savings income. I am also not keen on fee structures for investing. I'm still not seeing the advantage for the likes of us in investing.
Cowards, the lot of them. Always punching down
This people are both ill informed and have access to the data which would inform them. And they are comfortable saying this stuff out loud. Which in my view makes them utterly unsuitable for post, ie dumb AF, or complicit in what's coming. Save all this stuff and throw it to them in 20 years. Jesus
Except weโve spent $50 billion, the Strait is closed and 3000 people are dead.

Feel your pain man, but in answer to your message, because the man's an uncontrollable, orange gimp. And a cunt who, in real time, is wrecking our future hopes and dreams. In other news, drams may have been taken. Pictures at 11
Agree it's a minefield and also agree there's a demographic imbalance. I disagree that we can't tax asset wealth more effectively. It's well known that the tax system can be games if you know how and are prepared to pay third parties to enable. Close loopholes and make it fairer for all.
I think that's the issue, why don't we reconfigure the tax system so that it taxes wealth regardless of the amount of said wealth. I understand it's hard, and vested interests will push back, but it's the right thing to do.
We have a tax system that actively enables the wealthy to pass less than their fair share of tax. Taxing wealth fairly, the more you have the more you should be paying, is sensible, democratic and would help to distribute monies to those that need it most.
That's a move of absolute beauty. Taxi for Petrodollars
Language is important as is the reasoning behind media choices. Do better!
Aye, OK ya mad loon.
C'mon Murton. Good on yaas, get those Reform feckers away out!
Well worth a read, fabulous stuff.
Tremendous stuff Arthur, tremendous.
@mrjamesob.bsky.social Bedford CC dealing with the bigots like an absolute boss.
It's the G word. He's in it for the attention and what he can make out of it. If the BBC and a compliant RW media hadn't been fawning over him for a decade or more he'd be nowhere. That's the issue, elements of those with power love his brashness and craic. Ask yourself why.
Really. Well Mr Radcliffe why don't you just do me, my family and all my friends a great service and fuck off all the way over there. And when you get there, have a good think on why we asked you to go there. And when you've had a long hard think, fuck off a little bit more. Thanks.
This. 100% this.
Thank you for sharing that, wonderful.
Yup. Yup I did ๐
Forgive my grammar. I will try harder, really I will. But the point still stands, as I am sure you are aware.
Now where's my Thesaurus
Way to miss the point Dotski! The title isn't the issue, the fact that someone in Europe has got that dodgy twat in their sites is.
Oh so just fuck right off Mr. Farage
Full North Korea stuff.
If he does, and let's face it the odds are high, then we are Captain Fucked. I appreciate the difficulty the UK gov is in, but how much longer can UK/EU try not to upset the child king. Pick a lane, explain to all why we are picking that lane - even to the extent of a TV announcement and act. Please
What an abject waste of resources. Think of the positive impact a tenth of the ยฃ500m could achieve for society. Why aren't the current government looking to extract some of this resource via a transaction tax or a more progressive tax system. Stop giving capital more rights than us!
Can't recommend @iandunt.bsky.social latest substack enough. Even by his high standards it's a very powerful piece. I think the underlying thesis of two blocs in current UK politics is correct and the research quoted is of the highest standard. Goddam he's good.
