It’s the Lady of Shallot. By John William Waterhouse. She’s perched upon a willow log in swampy water. Fabulous quilted gown in pre-Raphaelite colors with a cream bodice and low slung black belt.

Fabulous picture I’d buy it. But I have a 4’ x 6’ John William Waterhouse mounted above my bureau. New England Maple antique number that needs some further refurbishment love. Hence the curiously hypnotic artwork.
