@environment.boston.gov was recently recognized with a Climate Award for its #BERDO Ordinance & Equitable Emissions Investment Fund. Through this initiative, Dorchester Bay installed solar arrays across 9 buildings!
This moment requires coordinated advocacy, policy discipline, and community-led development models. As both a CDC and CDFI, Dorchester Bay is advancing a 360° strategy that protects affordability and stabilizes neighborhoods.
The report also points toward the reforms required across the sector: streamlined permitting, zoning modernization, coordinated state-municipal policy alignment, and new capital approaches that can sustain affordable housing development at scale.
