Is there an untapped market for YouTube reaction video reaction videos? I’d watch an hour of you sitting there, shaking your head, muttering “Fuck me. Fuck my life. Jesus. Kill me now”.

Devil’s Planet (Broadcast: 27th Nov 1965)
Too wokey wokey for these days, sadly.
Doublet tomorrow, then.
There’s lovely isn’t it?
King norty felted weasel on skis made of curly wurlies one is half eaten.
The Shed Olympic downhill skiing team hit a snag when their captain ate their skis.
The Last Rotation of Salford?
I’d wager that it would be a legacy of a lifetime of heavy smoking. Almost ubiquitous in writers of his era.
Not allowed these days. This is a rare pic of him in full whiteface make-up for The Pale & White Honky Show which ran until 1978.
He’s not wrong, to be fair.
“You just bought a leaf blower. Here’s adverts for other leaf blowers filling your social media feed for the next two weeks”.
An audiophile shop assistant once - around 1996 - tried to interest me in a £100 audio cable saying it was “BBC standard”. I said if that were true it should have phone jacks at either end and the impedance characteristics of a kettle’s power lead. I didn’t buy it.
Gave my followers 6 months notice (I had a follower/follow ratio of 10:1) and deactivated a month ago. Not missing it and not going back.
Better to have one fucking massive one. Economy of scale and all that.
The news broke late afternoon in the UK not long before John Craven’s Newsround was scheduled. BBC News wanted to take over but Craven stood his ground and led the coverage despite massive pressure. Wouldn’t/couldn’t happen now.
Plenty Of Fiscists?
That nearly got Larry’s version of “Scum” banned.
As a 7 year old I had a formative and enlightening experience when the teacher crossed out my spelling of monkeys in red pen and corrected it to monkies.
I raise you “Survivors” - a vivid, concise and chilling sequence which not only sets the tone but tells the entire premise and backstory for the series in barely half a minute.
Thst’s a crying shame.
Vencemeros. Again. @gidcoe.bsky.social
Perhaps something to do with the BBC Written Archive Centre.
At least the process has a familiar ring to it.
Soon you’ll be floating around like cinders in Spain.
You gotta have a system.
Down with this sort of thing.
The full negative effect was achieved on the mixer as Clive attests (and could be mixed variably via a fader lever). The camera tubes used in b/w studios would invert around highlights if overloaded (e.g. shooting at a very bright light) but this was a technical artefact rather than artistic choice.
Right at the bottom of the list of Banks, after Jeff, Williams & Glyns, aeroplane, and the one-eyed goalie from Stoke.
Have a good day old chum. The strongest bonds are forged through adversity.
Just a remnant of the technology of the time. Vision mixers could cut on field 2 but PAL VT edits (whether physical or electronic) would always cut on field 1.
