It's time

I traveled cross country to about 20 different conventions, and yet it's the same artists and exhibitors that take up all of these spaces. From my observation, out of all the conventions, roughly 20% of artist alley booths were small creators, and 10% of them were local.

The point of conventions was to celebrate the culture, celebrate accomplishments of community members, and highlight up and coming creators. Now, it has become an oversaturated commercialized bureaucracy/popularity contest.

Getting waitlisted for artist alley and being denied opportunities at conventions because I don't have a large follower count despite my vast resume and portfolio is extremely discouraging.
