Read this just now and I was reminded of two things: of the murderous, abusive, and rape-filled language of Rodrigo Duterte and his crimes against humanity… and Trump.
Maybe I'm being pedantic, but when people say that AI is their "thought partner" I wonder how to have a thought partner that cannot think (or feel, or communicate with intention). What appears to be thought is an illusion that only achieves meaning through the human interpreting it.

So about ten years ago I found a small network of bots on Reddit dedicated to spreading hate. The thing about it is that these weren't even responding to political topics - they were just responding to random keywords with insults and hate.

How does one decouple Messenger from Facebook, if it's even possible? My Freedom app can only block both or neither, which is annoying. I really only need to use Messenger.
Attending one of my few Christmas parties in a bit. Grateful that it's a tricycle ride away, and worst case, I can walk (it's fifteen to twenty minutes). Unwilling to deal with Manila traffic in December.

There is a perception in the Philippines that e-bikes "cause traffic" and are "unsafe." This is an extension of the error that roads are for cars first and we should question the presence of any other road user. Sad that DOE is not pushing back on this.
