I, myself, almost stopped short with my first sentence. With cynicism. With hopelessness. I had to actively remind myself that the reason for all this pain, all this current misery, is all of the gains we have made.
We have to defend the progress we have already made, while we continue to move ever forward in expanding the roads to stability, to security, and to freedom.
Project 2025. The “manosphere.” It is all a reaction against the very real progress we have made ensuring that more Americans have access to the very rights we claim to hold dear. And we’ve certainly been reminded that this progress can never be taken for granted.
In my life, we’ve had to move from “Rock The Vote” to “Protect The Vote.” Cool. Although, we sometimes forget why we’ve been forced to defend our right to vote. Progress. That is why an angry minority works to disenfranchise. Because we have succeeded in opening doors for so many.
That endorsement would make a Becerra win just that much sweeter.

I watched video of someone apparently experiencing Mister Rogers for the first time. A British woman in, I would guess, her twenties. And just imagine never having experienced this man’s kindness and generosity of spirit. The world aches for more of that.
