And in any case: (1) Thomas was the most sensible of the apostles. (2) Jesus gave him what he needed. Happy Easter, Tom!

Sigh. MSNOW. You’d think I’d have sorted that by now.
I’m just going to have to start recording most MSNBC programming, aren’t I? I always seem to find out about your appearances after the fact.
Yes, I get the poster's general point. And in Spanish, estadounidense works well enough. But the English translation, not so much.
RC here. Is someone a Christian? If they’re (a) baptized and (b) haven’t formally renounced the faith, then yes. Whether their behavior is in keeping with that identity is a different question.
And what jurisdiction do we have?
Thank you. I remember thinking how wrong it felt when so many cheered & celebrated bin Laden’s death. Satisfaction and relief seemed right, along with sadness at the necessity of the loss of human life — but not glee.
Beautiful.
I’d missed that fact. Happy Birthday! I appreciate your work.
I never could figure it out (I, too, read all the Reddit threads). I finally gave up and switched apps.
No, C.S. Lewis.
I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better
@nbcnews.com Don’t you think your English-speaking audience for NBC Nightly News is interested in today’s s ICE raid in Camarillo? @noticiastelemundo.com is all over it for their evening broadcast.
Your regular reminder that most people in this country can't afford to move to another state and the inclination to say they're getting what they voted for in the devastation of a hurricane or flood or whatever the hell is a failure of common sense and empathy on multiple levels.
If I recall correctly, the podcast version of this from a few weeks ago was much clearer than the headline here that this is primarily a ROCOR thing. Even back when I was a grad student in the 90s occasionally visiting the Orthodox Christian listserv, ROCOR seemed a bit out there.
For the Monday morning crowd: a 🧵on how to appeal your NEH grant termination. Please share with NEH grantees.
I also summarized in a shareable google doc, available here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
BORDER IMMIGRATION APRIL 18, 2025 U.S. citizen in Arizona detained by immigration officials for 10 days Immigration officials in Tucson arrested the 19-year-old man from Albuquerque on April 8, saying he had entered the country illegally, before a judge dismissed his case on April 17.
Under the Trump administration’s theory of the law, the government could have banished this U.S. citizen to a Salvadoran prison then refused to do anything to bring him back.
This is why the Constitution guarantees due process to all. Could it be more obvious?

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.
It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.
Where we are as a country
Bummer. I’d have thought that Chicago Sports Network covered the whole Chicago area. MLB licensing is insane.
Forget about the legal case.
A man was wrongly deported and placed in a notorious prison with leaders of a gang out to get him.
Anyone with an ounce of basic human decency would fix the mistake and return that man to the United States
Aren’t the Sox available over the air? I can can get them via antenna here in the South Bend area. (Which is nice, because MLB.tv blacks me out when the Twins play them.)
This is worse than sentence first, verdict afterwards. It’s verdict first (judicial order not to remove to El Salvador), sentence next (mistaken removal to CECOT), and finally retroactive nullification of verdict with no due process to accord with wrongful sentence. We are monsters.
Unless that's paid leave, I fail to see how they have any obligation to answer questions — especially from the people seeking to make the leave permanent.
This entire Greenland nonsense demonstrates the strategic stupidity of the Trump admin.
1) Crap all over NATO.
2) Realize that without NATO, our northern flank is vulnerable.
3) Let's Annex Greenland!
4) But what if Greenland doesn't want to be annexed?
5) Ummm . . .
Shameful nonsense
That might vary by location. When I had Hulu Live, they had my locals. Definitely something to check, though.
There’s no separate fee. Both carry Fox, so I’m sure there’s a licensing fee baked in to the price, but that would be true for any package that carries major news channels.
I have the same thing w/XFinity. Last summer I moved to their prepaid Now service. It was easy to put the modem in bridge mode & it plays nice w/my mesh router. I get 100 down/20 up for $30; could pay $45 for 200 down. Don’t know if prepaid is available to @radiofreetom.bsky.social or fast enough.
