Congrats to Baris Kesgin of Elon University, who was named as the 2025 Quincy Wright Distinguished Scholar Award winner! If you are attending the #2025ISAMW conference, be sure to register for the Quincy Wright luncheon, where Baris will be delivering his keynote address.
And this year's Quincy Wright winner, Leah Windsor of the University of Memphis, delivered a keynote address during the Saturday luncheon on "Transdisciplinary collaborative research and the 'science of teams.'" She gave advice on using collaborative agreements to promote better team dynamics.
ISA President Marijke Breuning delivered her presidential address during our Friday reception. Her topic? "The Importance of Teaching International Studies in Complicated Times," focusing on the importance of international studies in creating a well-rounded civic education.
And on to @proflupton.bsky.social (center) of Colgate University, one of the co-winners (along with Clayton Webb, University of Kansas) of the Frank J. Klingberg Award For Best Paper Presented by a Faculty Member. Danielle also took part in our editors roundtable this year.
Before we end the year, we want to share some #ISAMW2024 memories! Feel free to share yours as well! First, we'll start with Brian Lai (center) of the University of Iowa, who won this year's Excellence In Teaching And Mentoring Award.
You can address it to Holley E. Hansen, ISA Midwest Regional President. In your email subject line, make sure to list the award you are applying for. To be clear, the website is up-to-date on the required materials and award names, but we are working to update the email address!
We are now on Bluesky, and for our first post, are happy to announce that we are accepting award nominations until Dec 31 for our paper, Quincy Wright, and book awards! Ignore the info on the website (www.isanet.org/Programs/Awa...), and send your nomination materials to isa-midwest@isanet.org
