this is like that one article about how plastic bag charges were leading people to bring their own shopping bags

Did you see the 4k remastered Rothkos
If you haven't read Elizabeth Sandifer's "Cuddled Little Vice" it's absolutely and 100% worth the time. It's hard to imagine anybody will ever write a better reflection on Neil Gaiman's artistic legacy and all it implies, both about the limits of art and the limits of a particular person.
oh cool someone found an even more annoying way to say they were going to find themself
Like "trans people exist and that's entirely fine" is actually the path of least resistance here.
This feels like a lot more effort than just accepting that there's always gonna be trans people in the population and not deliberately making their lives harder.
I've had four actual phone calls today, which is unusual. They've all sounded really apologetic and nervous and now I'm wondering if I'm answering the phone in a really hostile way and I'm not aware of it.
Coyote vs. ACME
This looks like a lotta fun.

McSweeney wedged in a ceiling corner of the committee room, hissing at Emily Thornberry as she tries to dislodge him with a broom.
This'll be worth seeing, although so will the process of getting him there which I assume will be akin to getting an extremely stressed cat into a cat carrier.
At this point the only reason to call it the Labour Party is it lasts too long, hurts like hell, and people keep popping in and out to check on your genitals.
Margaret Hodge is okay with cronyism
Starmer's official corruption tsarina here actually asking: "Well, what's wrong with jobs for the boys then, eh?"
The wheel spins as it should, ever onward, relentless and inevitable.
Headline: World’s biggest condom maker set to raise prices due to Iran war
oh great now where am I supposed to get my world’s biggest condoms
no i will not apologise
Shuddering breathless orgasms.
This is shocking. Not so much that it's happening, I assume that's pretty common. But that Labour have alienated so many of their activists that MPs are having to do it themselves.
It's not unheard of for politicians to swear but aiming it quite so directly at members of your own electoral coalition is a bit novel.
Cullen Crawford @HelloCullen. landlords should not exist except as a mean nickname sailors call us
Well, I've just learned I'm blocked by someone I had never heard of five minutes ago.
I honestly can't decide whether to sardonically deploy "the adults are back in the room" or "it's nice isn't it, the quiet?" BOTH WOULD WORK
Im a historian and can think of very few good reasons why anyone would know Oswald's 1939 speeches by heart
I know sacking the holder of one of the Big Four two weeks before elections when you're already clinging on to your own job by your fingernails is a big ask, but she's days away from running into the street and barking at Deliveroo riders.
Obviously the Home Office sends anyone who works there weird and authoritarian very quickly but even by those standards she is rocketing toward the Braverman Threshold quicker than anyone ought.
I'm aware the the PM has got quite a lot going on right now but he needs to sack Shabana Mahmood. She's not going to win over any Reform or even Tory voters with this Send The Buggers Back shit but she's somehow managing to make Labour even more toxic than they already are to anyone left of centre
We’re in such a grim place right now. I don’t even want to think that Mahmood knows how serious what she’s saying in jest is here, but that’s just me giving her too much credit.
Labour deserve everything that’s coming too them, because they enabled it and should never be forgiven for that.
I'm not going to post a photo. I don't want to spoil the surprise.
I have never eaten it so it may be delicious (although I am not a seafood guy so I suspect not) but if you can look at Stargazy Pie and not see a deeply sick country then you're better than me.
So we should have sent someone who is widely known to be compromised, to deal with people who are clearly not above blackmail? Sure that won't backfire.
In the debate Ben Spencer (Con) said that Keir Starmer should not have needed security vetting to realise that, if the US administration had access to the Epstein files, that meant they had “compromising information” on Mandelson. He said that meant Mandelson would be entering critical negotiatons knowing that the administation had leverage over him. “That, for me, is the most egregious fundamental failure in terms of protecting our national security,” he said.
Obviously not going to hand it to a Tory but that is the answer to all the "he's a snake but he's going into a snake pit" bollocks, isn't it?
"We should send a very compromised man to deal with extremely dishonest and unethical people. No I have never heard the term blackmail. What does it mean?"
