A tweet by Karen Piper (@PiperK) reads: "There it is. Trump would have been convicted of 'conspiracy to defraud the United States' and 'conspiracy to deprive citizens of voting rights' if he had not been elected to be president. The U.S. is in totally uncharted territory." Below the tweet is an excerpt from a document that discusses the Department's view that the Constitution prohibits the indictment and prosecution of a sitting President, regardless of the gravity of the crimes charged, and indicates that sufficient evidence existed to obtain a conviction at trial.
U.S. voters elected a felon and prevented further prosecutions of him for his many crimes. Heaven help us all.
