I’d say, don’t wait a year until your “Physical” to let us know something’s wrong. The annual physical is actually not the time to bring up the chest pain, diarrhea, and sore shoulder you’ve been having for 6 months. Pulling a list of complaints out is soul crushing

There’s a reason there’s a shortage of clinicians everywhere. It’s not worth it anymore. They’re heading towards concierge medicine. If you want a warning sign about healthcare in this country collapsing, look there. I’m not saying Robby’s should be looked up to, but it’s a real presentation 4/

Patients see their doc maybe 15-30 minutes? and the pressure to have the patient be “satisfied” is immense. People think the $ makes up for everything, but when we’re in our offices charting, if we don’t have someone to vent to or have a healthy balance, it’s easy to spiral. 3/

There’s a reason medical professionals laud the show as being realistic and Robby being an A-hole even WITHOUT all those issues would still be realistic. Robby’s displaying all the signs of someone who’s burned out and the general public doesn’t really get how bad it really is 2/

So as someone who’s been practicing medicine for over a decade mostly in a primary care county clinic, Robby being a guy who has active major depression, PTSD, and is a senior ER doc in a county hospital is acting how I’d expect someone with those issues to act. 1/
