This seems exactly right, sadly.

Yep. Me too. Moths to the flame.
The Red Sox are unwatchable this year. Ugh.
Want to fix the wealth disparity (a bit) and create a system where billionaires start paying taxes again? This excellent article by Ray Madoff provides an elegant and pragmatic solution. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
He's mired in a season-long slump...
Saved from having to see Bryce and Schwarber politely eating cold McDonald's as RFK Jr challenges them to chin-up contests in the West Wing supply closet.
oops. White nationalism is a helluva drug.
Never thought anyone or anything would make me yearn for the days of J. Edgar Hoover....
thats an attack ad
They. Are. Concentration. Camps.
How would you like a job performance review where part of the compensation package is a $200 m. donor-advised fund for you to distribute? This just happened in at a private equity firm. What's going on?!

Oh, @amtrak.com, I want to love you! But why do you take my affection for granted? With 200 people in NYC boarding the 11 a.m. train to Boston, why wasn't there even a single Amtrak staff member directing us to the quiet car? And why was there not a single sign in the quiet car, once it was found?!
Something I am thinking about is, what is the difference between someone like Jerome Powell, and someone like John Roberts. They're both Republicans, both appointed by terrible Republican presidents, and one is defying the most powerful man on Earth while the other provides him complete legal cover
Good for Jerome Powell for calling out Trump and his henchmen for their unlawful (my word) intimidation of him and the Fed. Would that everyone in that position had Powell's firmness and willingness to speak out!
There isn’t a single Republican watching this and thinking “yep this is great. Exactly what we needed.”
GOP congressmen and senators now thinking about hitting the exits
LOLLL Trump claims he’s cutting drug prices by 600 percent, which is not possible
What to make of the recent "gift" from billionaires Michael and Susan Dell? www.alancantorconsulting.com/2025/12/char...

I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?
But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.
But that's just me
Ah, but the other Guerrero is about to break your heart...
It wasn’t so much what Zohran Mamdani said. It was how he said it. “We’re going to stand up for Haiti, because you taught the world about freedom!” the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York exclaimed to an elated crowd at a Haitian music festival in June, fresh off his upset victory in the primary. Mr. Mamdani pronounced the island nation’s name “AH-ee-tee” — near-perfect Creole elocution. “When I heard him say that, I smiled,” recalled Brian Purnell, one of Mr. Mamdani’s former professors at Bowdoin College. He also noted that Mr. Mamdani’s reference to freedom was a nod to Haiti’s status as the first republic founded by former slaves. “That’s straight out of the lessons from the Haitian Revolution that we teach in Africana studies,” said Dr. Purnell, who is now the chair of the Africana studies department at Mr. Mamdani’s alma mater. “I will claim that,” he added with a laugh.
Finally someone bold enough to ask, is new york ready for a mayor who opposes slavery? www.nytimes.com/2025/10/28/u...
yes
Trump has a history of defacing historically & artistically significant buildings. Forty-five years before razing the East Wing, he demolished the Bonwit Teller store to build Trump Tower -- after promising to donate the exterior artwork to the Met. (He lies. Always.) news.artnet.com/art-world/do...
I despise Trump with all my being. This is NOT his house!
This may be the perfect distillation of Trumpism. DJT unilaterally destroys a wing of the White House to build a gaudy addition, tasteless real estate developer that he is. It's called "The People's House," and I, for one, am pissed at the home invasion.

My sentiments exactly. (The author and I grew up in the same small town in Connecticut, way on the Boston side of the Yankees-Red Sox divide.)

The author of this op-ed, David Margolick, is from my hometown of Putnam CT. He captures my sentiments perfectly.

If a government tells you that you can’t call it authoritarian, it’s authoritarian.
