"The masters of war pretend not to know that it takes only a moment to destroy, yet a lifetime is often not enough to rebuild. They turn a blind eye to the fact that billions of dollars are spent on killing and devastation, yet the resources needed for healing, education and restoration are nowhere to be found." -Pope Leo XIV

Four frames. Angus Taylor and journo. 1. Angus: “We need to decide who we let into this country...” Journo: “We already do, through our immigration process.” 2. A: “Yes, well we need to make sure they respect our values…” J: “They already have to pass a values test.” 3. A: “Well, we need to ensure they don’t breach these values…” J: “We have laws, and consequences for people who break them.” 4. A: “Something something people from Gaza…” J: “It’s hard coming second to Pauline, isn’t it.”
All he’s got.
My @smh cartoon.
Single frame. Left: Trump at his desk in the Oval Office, MAGA hat on, Macca’s drink cup beside, posting obscenities on his phone. Centre stage Vance with hands in pockets and shoes too big. Blonde functionary bringing huge bunch of flowers to Vance says, “Vice President Vance, the people of Hungary would like to thank you for your invaluable interference…”
Thanks JD.
My @smh @theage cartoon.
I watch Talking Pictures on iview
Today’s episode of no shit Sherlock.
A few years ago it seemed that contemporary films included at least one scene where someone was urinating. Lately I have noticed that urination has been replaced with scenes of one or more people brushing their teeth. WTF is going on?
The bluntest of blunt instruments in the Nat's box of hammers.
Matt Canavan to lead the Nationals into the 1950s.
Welcome to Australia you fabulous group of women!!

“Tired tired tired. Totally buggered.”
“Well it must be hard work buggering up the Coalition and totally buggering up any chance of getting back into government any time in the next decade. Who’s going to fix it David?”
“Buggered if I know Lynne. Barnaby might of, but he buggered off, the bugger”
Single frame. Soccer field, five Iranian women players in motion, one kicking a goal which is flying past an Iranian Ayatollah goalkeeper.
Goal!
My @smh @theage cartoon.
I'll proudly wear the T-shirt with one word ... difficult
Absolutely.
Section. From linked article. Poor ratings have been compounded by a prolonged campaign by activist group Mad F---ing Witches, which has resulted in falling metro advertising revenue and lost ground to its main competitors, Nova and Southern Cross Austereo.
Congrats & Thanks to @mfwitches.bsky.social helping end K&JO Shit Show✊
They’d on air fight, yes, but massive pressure from MFW’s prolonged campaign, sucking 100’s of advertisers from station & posting about misogynistic, toxic & bigoted content, sealed the deal😎💜

In the coming days, weeks, months and years, NEVER EVER forget.
Am getting *very* worried that the govt will do the smallest fricken thing on capital gains tax and negative gearing.
Probably will end up changing the policy so little that it will have next to bugger all impact.
Sigh. If you want to change the country, CHANGE. THE. F*CKING. COUNTRY.
Yeah Albo, FFS do something about the tax system. If you can't be brave, give the game away and move aside to let someone else take the bull by the horns.
How's this for a response? When I told my adult son that I loved him (so much) he said "In that case for your sake I hope you die before I do".
Only anecdotal.
Also heard "Australia have".
Single frame. Angus Taylor at table with generic colleague at whiteboard holding marker. On whiteboard, two headings: “GOOD IMMIGRANTS” and “BAD IMMIGRANTS”. Under first: “# People like us; # Business people; # Wealthy people; # Cheap labour”. Nothing yet under second. Taylor says: “Well, we DON’T want the kinds of people that come from repressive terrorist regimes…” Colleague says: “You mean, the people most likely to need somewhere safe to flee to?”
Bad immigrants.
My @smh cartoon.
Enjoy this little round up of Angus Taylor's many talents
. . . and yes, it's from the tiktok pages of Rupert's Australian
(apologies for the aspect ratio, my converter refused to do anything better than this 😎)

It does seem perfect that Friday the 13th is the day the execrable Angus Taylor will be elected leader of the liberal party by his parliamentary colleagues.
What defines a ‘progressive’ inside the Liberal Party? Someone who favours the cat’o’7 tails over nine? Pulls only one wing off butterflies? Wants us to go back to 1958 instead of 1948? It’s a fight for the Angry Old White Man vote.
Love your cartoon Cathy. I see that Jane Hume is right there beside Angus, ready for when she is needed as his right-hand woman.
Two frames. 1. Lib Party Room, members huddled around table, one says “We have no policies, no principles, no vision, no credibility, no gravitas, no consistency, no popular appeal…” 2. Same scene, another says, “You’re right - Angus Taylor is the leader who best represents us.”
If the cap fits.
My @smh @theage cartoon.
Love this SO much!!!!! 😂😃🤣 #Auspol
Look at me, look at me, look at me.
