Zelda? Mario? Dark Souls?
Im stuck waiting till 10pm tomorrow
Feel like its a crime not to name that
Why are we hating on this card?
Favorite art: uhhhh
well this is a tougher one. Lots of games have art I feel like really gets the setting across like Wildsea, Heart/Spire, and ink. But im a guy who favors a generic system I staple things onto so its hard to say
Favourite mechanics: Genesys
See above but it you want more then I just really clicked with it. The low numbers and the openness of the abilities just allowed me to just make long standing TTRPG ideas reality without feeling like the rules were getting in the way.
Favorite game: Genesys
I played the SW FFG game and just loved its malleability. Instantly recognized just how open the setup was. When they announced a "generic" version of it I was already in. Ive picked up all the books for it and will constantly sing its praises
Longest game: DnD 3.5
This was a game I kinda stumbled into in high school. Ran at my LGS and existing friends of mine were already in. I joined probably around lvl 10 and this thing still went "epic". The campaign lasted several years and is the only one I can say I saw to completion.
Last game: Pico or Genesys
I played a demo game of Pico at Gencon but otherwise the last thing I really played was a Genesys game I ran at the start of lockdowns. Kind of a fantasy wild west with gunslingers and spellslingers
Because I have more thoughts than can be contained, I will be breaking this up into many posts
First game: AD&D
Started playing TTRPGs in the 90s and it really felt like a one game world. Sure others existed (fuck you Shadowrun) but the one you could get people to play easily was DnD.
I found out that for every set they make a design bible. This document makes those art books look like a waiting room pamphlet. They go into far more detail for all the design choices and have tons of concept art. An absolute shame they won't just bind and sell those to us
Love this art. Its my measuring stick on if I should even acknowledge someone's opinions on art
Its a blueprint for so many games that came after it
Cuz the point of this is to get you to say something
Maybe there is something to this new head coach
Angry dork: you took three seconds to boot, shame New fancy PC: I am sorry Brian: you got 5 minutes to boot up Magic the Gathering Shandalar Win 95 beast PC tower: Make it 15
I used to not know
Now I know
Maybe next season
And then time to watch the Majuular video
Nah thats fair. AI doesnt deserve a space here
Lifelong fan of money that smiling weirdo
The pre-HD era was really something. No one was ready for what HD would do to the world of video games
Was happening several times yesterday. I thought the thing finally happened
When I got into retro games in the past couple of years it was an early pickup because of this. Thats when I found out what a slog it was and watched the town building just become far less interesting as you got into the later dungeons.
I rented the 2nd one multiple times when I was younger. Due to not having more than a single memory card I would have start from the beginning each time. Those first handful of hours of the game are very engrossing. Then you get to the seaside dungeon and oh boy is it just a slog from there
Its still in my rotation
5 stars? Surely you must be joking
