Won’t be seeing many more of these Southwest tails at Dulles soon.

Agree with Seth but also hate it.
“I don’t think there is a smoking gun. The US situation is a perfect storm, with high-speed arterials, distraction from phones, and big SUVs.”

Spirit Airlines is asking the Trump administration for millions of dollars to stay afloat as fuel prices rise, reports @theaircurrent.com. Many believe a bailout to be bad precedent.
Spirit leadership is set to meet with Secretary Duffy next week.

Spirit, in terms of both flights and seats, is slightly larger today than Eastern was when it shut down in January 1991.
However, given the US airline industry's growth, Eastern was just over 4% of US airline seats when it closed while Spirit is just over 2% today, per Cirium.
Spirit Airlines could liquidate this week as fuel prices spike.
Jet fuel stood at $4.24/gallon on April 15, up 75% from Feb. 24 the day Spirit announced support for its standalone reorganisation plan.

The ATV driver is at fault here, not the bike lane.
Correction: apparently my friends just never admitted to me they went to the wrong DC airport before 😅
Just papering it out, I’d say DFW stays and IAH goes.
DFW is a larger hub and the LatAm gateway IAH provides United would be superseded by the strength of MIA.
That said, politics and incentives could easily tip the scales another way.
Today I met someone who went to DCA when their flight was out of BWI.
Yes, it’s a running @washprobs.bsky.social joke but I’d never met someone who actually did it! 🤯

Co-showrunner Ben Nedivi: "We're creating it from scratch, this idea of a city on Mars, and it's so important to us for the show to feel grounded and realistic. So we built this new insane set, that I think is probably larger than any set in Sony right now, of a..."
I’m trying to think of all the divestitures a United-American deal would require.
Certainly all of AA’s ORD hub, and probably slots and gates in DC, London, New York and LA.
On the capacity front, Qantas is reducing group domestic Australia capacity by 5 percentage points.
The airline is adding capacity to Europe, particularly Paris and Rome, as "as customers seek alternative routes" between Australia and the continent.
Jet fuel refining margins "have increased from US$20 per barrel in February to a peak of around US$120," says Qantas.
The airline, despite hedges, is raising its fuel guidance for the half-year ending in June by at least a quarter to A$3.1-3.5bn.
Australia imports 85% of its jet fuel.
Every building should have a 747.
A fitting addition to a new development in Seattle, the home of the 747.

United unveiled its most premium plane, a 787-9 with 99 premium seats, last month.
Delta? Hold my beer, plans 101 premium seats on its A350-1000.
While it is more premium seats, the -1000 is also a larger plane than the -9, so one would EXPECT more premium seats. What is the LOPA?
