This painting is going into the LSA annual exhibition 14th Feb-11th April at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery on New Walk. It will be available to view or own from February 14th. It’s called ‘Underground Communication’. I’ll explain why in my next post :)

Painting of Woman in shorts throwing ball for three dogs on a beach
..and here it is on the easel.
20 x 20 inches
Oil paint on wooden panel.
It was a commission so I didn’t give it a name but I’m curious , what name would you give this painting?

Hello to 2026 & I hope everyone’s settling in well ♥️👋🏼 Here’s a commission I loved painting just before Christmas. My intention was to bring the movement of the impending ball throw across the entire oil painting. To conjure up the best feeling of being on the beach, in the warmth, with dogs! #art
I find sometimes that it’s hard to paint when I’m not feeling anything but sometimes that’s more important than feeling everything. Here are some pure moments in my life where I felt something good.

I can see why, they’re lovely 😍😊
This piece sold at ‘Left to Draw Studios’ this week. I heard that it will be someone’s partner’s Christmas present and I love that ♥️ #koi #paintings #creativity

At the weekend this acrylic piece, on the left, sold at Soho Fine Art Gallery in Cambridge, England and today I put this oil piece, on the right, up for sale with British Contemporary Art @britishart.bsky.social ♥️👋🏼
Recently I’ve painted about 50 of these kind of koi paintings in oils in sizes from small to XL.
I became intrigued by the way the koi & the water affected each other
Many have already sold & the last large ones are now with UK based Soho Fine Art. #koi #oilpaintings #paintingsforsale #artforsale
Thank you 👍🏼♥️
My muse? Thank you 😂👍🏼♥️
Thank you so much! ♥️👋🏼
Thank you! ♥️👋🏼
😂👍🏼
Looking good! If we get snow I’ll remember to use a wooden spoon! 😊👏🏼
Do you have those timeless moments when you just stop & stare, tuning in to all your senses. What can I hear? What can I smell? How do I feel? Those are the moments I try to notice & remember this is my only life, notice it. A sunset, a view across the ocean, stopping & staring in an art gallery.
Today is a gloomy, foggy morning in England but in my mind I’m painting a beach! Love a beach commission! 😍 #art #mindcontrol #escape #painting #myworld #mymind #commissions #beaches #artists
I’m tired mainly, how are you?
Love that! 😍👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
In 2020, to get me through the worst time in my life as my father lay dying, I painted & gifted 20 portraits to NHS Heroes. It was the best medicine for both of us. He didn’t recognise me at the end but thinking I was a nurse he proudly told me what his daughter had done ♥️ #nhs #artist #father #love
In 2019 I started mixing cold wax medium into my oil paints, I loved the effect. I had to find new ways of applying the paint to the surface as the wax clogged up brushes. For these paintings I used palette knives & silicon bowl scrapers. Still love this effect & plan to do more. #art #painting #oil
Thank you so much! 👋🏼
In my most recent paintings I’m using metallic powders mixed in with cold wax medium & oil paint to celebrate the light & glistening shimmers of the water which I find so emotionally beautiful, I don’t know why. This is a large framed painting, around 120 x120cm #paintingsforsale #therutlandgallery
Thank you so much Linda 👋🏼
I agree Paul, I think I spend more time marketing than actually painting and feel as though I’m shouting into the wind a lot of the time but still I do it!
Delhi 2018, expecting sun I was shocked by the polluted sky there. On return I painted a series, beautiful roses trying to survive the elements with that weak sun trying to break through.
Not a huge commercial success, nobody wants sad I guess but pleased I made paintings from the experience.
Thank you! Fortunately they won’t discourage me from painting as what I get out of it they can’t touch but it is infuriating!!
Thank you! I know, brazen is the word, unbelievable
I needed an image of one of my sold paintings so I googled my name to find it & came across these companies I’ve never heard of selling canvas prints of my work! 🤬 Impossible to police these days!
I painted my hallway with or without hens a lot in those days as the light was so good in there.
If Mars is too far, head to this lantern festival in Thailand
Serious hibernation vibes this morning in my part of the UK. So I’m looking at where my painting archive went next after lavender & it was the humble hen that took my attention. The movement of hens seemed a good challenge to paint & they taught me to paint quickly with fast marks and energy.
