And there’s something going on with their usage limits being reached really quickly. Might be a cache bug but ppl are raging and rage quitting atm. Reddit going mad 😆
Will have to read that one.
Only thing worrying about this proportion is that it isn't 100%. Knowledge is our work. Our labor. We can't steal it. It's ours.
Lookin fierce mild there.
Jeremy Fox has a new book out, 'The Ecology of Ecologists'. What's that about, and should you read it? (Quick answers: how ecology's chaos of approaches is a feature, not a bug; and YES.) scientistseessquirre... 🌍🧪
O this is going on my reading list.
Finally! Here is our perspective on why cooperation maximizes diversity and how it promotes additional coexistence mechanisms that do not occur under competition

This is a hard topic with strong opinions... Thanks @asn-amnat.bsky.social for publishing it! 🧵👇
I am teaching at the ACDC "Climate and Landscapes" summer school in Abisko in August! Looking forward to visiting the much fabled Abisko field station! Application deadline April 15th... www.atmos.washington.edu/~david/acdc_...
The level of stupidity baffles me.
Replace psychology with vegetation modeling/ecology/tipping points/alternative stable states.
Too many stories and too many big assumptions without evidence.
This is ecology I fear.
I am happy to share this again!
🎓 PhD done!
I’m sincerely grateful to my amazing supervisors, @peteecology.bsky.social, @mschleuning.bsky.social and @margot Neyret for their guidance, support, and encouragement throughout this journey.
Cheers to the next step✈️.
Huge congratulations to Dr Dickson Mauki @dicksonmauki.bsky.social who successfully defended his PhD yesterday: 'Plant functional strategies and regulating Nature's contributions to people along environmental gradients of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania'.
Well done Dickson- I’m really proud of your development and and all you have achieved over the course of your PhD journey.
The first of Dickson's PhD papers is published here in Journal of Ecology, with more great work to follow besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

It’s not really a cost, net zero is insurance, against fossil fuel price spikes, heatwaves, floods, droughts, emerging diseases, ecosystem collage and more. A veritable bargain.
A pioneering rewilding site in Europe entailed transforming the river Rhine. The flood risk has been massively reduced saving billions of euros; the local economy has been revitalised. Delighted to film Wouter Helmer explaining how he created it. youtu.be/gr5YyyCHI4o?...
That’s very interesting.
Also interesting to see birders in their natural habitat.
Scientist: “interesting science rewilding…o shit bird…back to science” 😆
Same 😭
Free association of biogeography. FAB 😆
Was that you? Nice
This is why @biogeographyjfab.bsky.social and other diamond OA journals are so important. Send us your awesome biogeography papers and do the field a solid!

Ha. Sure, as long as it’s not evilsphere.
That’s exactly it eh. You need to already have the skills to use it well, but you’ll never gain the required skills if you use it.
