a page within the book, which features detailed photographs of two cephalopods: onykia loennbergyi and cycloteuthis sirventi. there are enlarged images of the tentacle clubs of each squid, as well as one showing a sucker of the onykia.

the copy i ordered of @satokatu.bsky.social’s lancetfish dissection project arrived today. this is by far one of the coolest things i’ve found out about via twitter, and is an incredibly thorough record of midwater prey species consumed by alepisaurus ferox near japan.
