As a committed and passionate beer drinker there was a time when I couldn’t imagine ordering a cocktail in a pub, yet here we are.

They were all good, but I particularly enjoyed the cask beers and the impy stout.

It’s a beautiful sunny morning and after a tough week the world should be my lobster, but oh no! The Boy is going on a tennis coaching course or something and guess who needs to do all the driving and waiting around.

As we speak I’m explaining to t’wife why it’s such a masterpiece, but I’m getting the impression that she’s not actually all that arsed.

The first drinking night in what feels like a lifetime (it’s been a week). Belgian beers, whisky and a soundtrack of Celtic Frost.

I might even see you, but I’ve got an awful lot going on behind the scenes at the moment so not 100% I’ll be able to make it yet.

It’s surprisingly good.

“Fettled” in Hornsea. Possibly the best boozer in town on today’s evidence.
