It's so infuriating! It's such a waste of opportunity.

A four panel meme from Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring, Elrond's Council. The top panel has Aragorn saying "You have my sword."; The second panel has Legolas the Elf saying "And you have my bow.". The third panel has Gimli the dwarf saying "And my ax...ial skeleton". The final panel shows the members of Elrond's council looking at the pedestal with an axial skeleton resting on top (the skull, vertebral column, rib cage and sternum).

A Threads post from me - with the theme: Biology Teaching
The post reads: I was teaching blood typing and it was going really well until the students got squeamish and started asking "where did you get the blood from?", "where did you get the typewriter?", "why does it use blood instead of ink?", "why are you typing out our names?"...
Boy, you put in all that effort...

The crowd of striking teachers outside Trades Hall in Carlton.

The crowd of striking teachers outside Trades Hall in Carlton.

An absolute sea of striking teachers assembled outside Trades Hall now. Nothing better than seeing workers standing up and fighting back together for a better deal! ✊ ❤️

Yes, my eldest hooked onto a lot of misogynistic misinformation (no such thing as a gender pay gap, etc...) as a mid-to-late teen. My wife and I had discussions with him about the quality of information that he was consuming and eventually he settled into a better informed, empathetic young man.

Who knew that there was enough information about the histology of cured pork to write an entire textbook about?!

The president had his DOJ seizing ballots while he is trying to force Republicans to enact new voter suppression laws. Our democracy is in danger.

I founded Democracy Docket to help keep you informed on the fight ahead. Support its work and subscribe now. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

Funding for frontline FDSV services is still only 80% of what the sector has spent a decade calling for.

That's 1 in 5 women being turned away.

If this government can afford to hand $368b to Trump for AUKUS submarines, why can’t they afford to fully fund women and children’s safety?

There has been good work done to bring violence against women into the spotlight and encourage women to seek help.

But if that help is not there because there isn’t enough funding, we are condemning women to homelessness, violence or death.

This week, advocates gathered in Parliament House to demand the government make women’s safety a priority in the lead up to International Women’s Day and fully fund frontline services.

The Greens proudly and loudly back those demands.

A histological section of the spleen stained with H&E. In the centre, a large purple sphere of many, many cells - this is the white pulp. Outside, there are pale pink connective tissue strands and many, many red cells and nucleated cells. This is the red pulp. At the top of the white pulp is a small arteriole and a layer of cells - this is the peri-arteriolar lymphoid sheath, or PALS. There is a photo of the author in this area. Hence, me hanging with my PALS. It's a hilarious histology joke but very niche.

I once walked past Frank Woodley in Rundle Mall back in his early days of Lano and Woodley during the time of the Adelaide Fringe Festival. I didn't know who was who back then so I said "Hello, Lano or Woodley" as I walked past. I don't remember him acknowledging me (understandably).

Congratulations, son, you’re now a page 3 * man *, in today’s The Age!

In all seriousness, we simply couldn’t be prouder.

If anyone would still like to donate to Rohan’s fundraiser for youth mental health, you can, at www.mycause.com.au/page/385454/.... Thanks for everyone's support!

Jesus turned over the tables of the money lenders. Where are all the Christian's at? Burn this corrupt mess down and start again with integrity and equity.
