Molcan is in an ATP500 semifinal!!! I prayed for days like this.

Maybe it’s because the actress who plays Ms. Casey in Severance was also in Dollhouse.

Finally watching Severance (and loving it) and wondering if it’s reminiscent of Dollhouse or if I’m crazy.

Raphael Collignon defended his Monza title and, as a reward besides the points and prize money, he got a second giant perfume bottle!!! This is absolutely delightful.

“It all started with an exquisite drop shot.” The thing about drop shots, though, is that all may end with a tragic one.

Molcan vs Navone for breakfast! Tennis is exciting again.

Alex Bolt won three matches on clay (Houston’s peculiar clay, but still)! Maybe there is still hope for Grandparino.

Wonderful bottle! From your description, it sounds like the type of marine fragrance that I would appreciate.

Yes. I got a bunch of samples from Francesca Bianchi, but didn’t read much about the notes before trying them, so I was really taken by surprise by the moss in this one. I’ve been revisiting it quite often since first smelling it.

Clay season starts next week and Grandparino is #2 seed in Bucharest with a first round bye! As if we needed further proof that the world is upside down.

It’s fun to me that many recent reviews tend to classify this type of fragrance as masculine, while I think of them as quintessentially feminine. I guess my references are getting old with me.

As in recent formulations of classic chypres like Cristalle and Diorella, I think vetiver is an unsung hero working on the background to create the impression. The is citrus is, perhaps a bit like in Cristalle, a blend of leafy, zesty and juicy.

#SOTD Etruscan Water. This one was such a joy! A mossy & citrusy scent that feels like stepping back in time (or in fantasy woods). The moss of Etruscan Water is quite nuanced and chypre-y: earthy & dirty, indecisive between damp and dry, and carrying compelling mysterious character. #perfumesky

Wearing Luxe Calme Volupte for the second day in a row! I also love Cristalle EDT and Chamade (the galbanum-hyacinth in Luxe Calme Volupte reminds a bit of Chamade).

I was happily ignoring the Miami Open, but I see we will get a Grandparino vs Tragic Tommy round two. So maybe…

#SOTD Estella de la Mañana to keep up with birch tar. This is a cocoa-leather with cocoa pod appearing strong at the beginning, but soon subdued by a smoky and slightly leathery scent with vanillic undertones. #perfumesky

Although the fragrance’s name and the main notes somewhat suggest a masculine character, The Black Knight smells genderless. And timeless.

#SOTD The Black Knight. Alluring smoky and pungent birch tar, woody vetiver and an underlying sweetness. As the fragrance develops, the leather transitions from birch tar to a gentler narcissus. #perfumesky

Angel’s Dust is an intriguing honey-floral and, I would say, a lovely journey for this benzoin enthusiast. It’s always a pleasure to find benzoin somewhere in a fragrance.

#SOTD Angel’s Dust. Boudoir powder at first glance. Pollen freely flying on the outdoors when one gets acquainted. Iris is definitely there, but it’s mimosa’s powdery & honeyed facets that gives the fragrance its character. The honeyed impression is reinforced by benzoin and tolu balsam. #perfumesky

#SOTD Tyger Tyger. Smooth peach, leathery ionones, honey, and something that feels a bit chypre-y. The fragrance wears close to the skin and feels intimate. Powdery notes and sweetness are just right. #perfumesky

Obviously I’m curious about this perle thing, but I don’t want my skincare to have the intensity of an eau de parfum. So this claim is a bit puzzling 🤔

The Mariner’s Rhyme has been my daily scent for the past weeks. Dreamy, different, transportive and lasts forever. I love how it projects, allowing me to smell it during the entire day without filling the room too much.

#SOTD Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits. The name is pretty much descriptive. It smells like Earl Grey with steamed milk and sweet baked goods. There is also a strange food note that I suspect must be oat, probably oat cookies. #perfumesky

Went to search what’s snake plant and found out it’s what we call Espada de São Jorge (Saint George’s Sword) in the end of world where I come from. I don’t associate it with any particular smell, just with dangerous calcium oxalate crystals. But it indeed conveys a bitter imagery.
