I refuse all blame
Yeah, the rest of the film I don’t think can live up to that opening, it’s so so good
The anger really comes though 😆

And what a kickoff

Dawn was fun!
Oh yeah, I mean once I saw the original it was clearly superior. But I still enjoy Savini’s version.
I see him as an auteur but he’s just not an auteur whose style I particularly enjoy. I like more color and less slow mo.
I mean, I read Claremont’s X-Men forever, I have no issues with those guys putting their kinks out on the page.
Same! I have watched almost every Snyder and his Dawn is his only movie that I genuinely like. It’s dumb as fucking rocks but very enjoyable, and has some genuinely excellent scenes.
No, 2004 Dawn is fun as hell. As is the Savini Night remake. The 2008 Day though, there is zero fun to be had.
am I going to have to delete this post before you all start jumping off the cliff
Believe it or not, I saw that somehow before even seeing the original
hope things are okay
I’d be okay if we could smack them one in the head every time our data was sold, that would be a fair deal
speaking of good though, I got to watch the Savini remake in the actual theater a few months back and that shit is still quite fun
don’t do it
yesssss
I swear if even person watches this shit because I mentioned it, I’m going to feel actual guilt and that goes for you and @demikane.bsky.social
it’s like a Uwe Boll movie without the weird hostile energy of a Uwe Boll movie
just put the ice pick right into your eyeball instead, it’ll feel much nicer
Undead Unluck and Sakamoto, I don’t think I got through more than ten chapters of either
can it possibly suck more than that Day of the Dead remake from 08, cause that would be an actual achievement, not much can achieve that level of industrial sucking
shots fired
Also dropped off Eleusive Samurai which, I got like 50 chapters in but it wasn’t working for me.
Akane Banashi may be my favorite current series, I only have one problem with that series and it’s that I often have a hard time telling all the various young male zenzas and trainees that she trains with or competes against apart (aside from the weaselly guy of course)
I dropped off like two years ago, maybe more.
I know Chang Cheh and John Woo are most famous for the ol “put the hero in white so the blood stands out” trope but truly this movie may be the most insane example of it. It’s like:
At some point I may circle back to Blue Box, but I just didn’t find myself clicking with any of the characters other than the rhythmic gymnastics girl, everyone else was so fucking earnest
