Priceless post from the official White House social media
J. H. Prynne wrote a guide to reading works of literature for Cambridge students. This was the postscript:
She's voting Reform, isn't she.
The underlying structural problems of UK politics that the country doesn't have the resources to do everything expected of it and a Westminster class in denial about this doesn't go away in the event of a new PM.
Harlow is also in Essex though. But I agree with the general sentiment.
I KNOW I'm going to sound like an old fogey (and I'm not a nostalgia-crazy Reform voter) but God knows how we managed to survive childhood/teenage years before mobile phones. In my case in the 1970s. My parents didn't even get a landline until the 1980s.
Laura Kuenssberg was the same when she was in that job.
How about Chip or Markwayne?
This morning I’ve seen Olly Robbins’s appearance before the select committee described as ‘box office’, while a commentator flagged up another key political moment with the words ‘bring the popcorn’.

Brexit. British Exit from the EU. But also stands in my mind for British Exceptionalism. That of being as a country so different to say France or Germany or any other that we couldn't really be happy members of a bloc.
Which was always nonsense.

"Is Ukraine winning the drone war?"
The Russians certainly think so.
What are the implications of Ukraine's innovations for the war and, more broadly, for how other countries should be thinking about drones?

brilliant -- Morning Joe put together clips of Pete Hegseth reciting a fake Bible quote from Pulp Fiction, along with the Samuel L. Jackson scene from the movie
Rejoin is coming: Talk of the customs union and single market is a distraction. Only full membership offers a compelling vision of Britain's future

The number of people crossing by small boat this year compared to last year. The fall is very real and not seasonal. Little difference in numbers during the winter but since numbers increased in spring, half as many people are coming as this time last year. This is mainly because of European trends.

Old Testament is all smiting and begatting. No wonder MAGA love it.
Good news. But at Sussex University last weekend they told us they had closed so many language courses that links with EU institutions have dwindled and Erasmus returning won’t change that.
BBC News is going very hard on its investigation into advisers who help people ‘fake’ asylum claims, focusing especially on people who falsely claim to be gay. But it doesn’t say what percentage of claims are made on the basis of sexuality. As of 2023 — the last available figures — it was 3%.
We need an innovative industry to produce both high-end complex systems and cheaper new technologies. To this end, we can learn from Ukraine’s expertise and experience.
In an increasingly complex security environment, a strong relationship between the EU and NATO is central to European security.
