This guy like "I've always wanted to be a marathoner, but I didn't want to run long distances. But now, with the help of this handy SUV, I'm crossing finish lines like there's no tomorrow! 😁"

A rounded robot with banded arms and legs. It stands near a wall, surrounded by absolute darkness, holding aloft a sort of simlified Davy lamp that casts light all around it, onto the wall and floor. The robot has a defiant expression on its face, and is holding out its free hand, almost as if warding something off.

Plotweaver evolves familiar d20 mechanics for a new generation of narrative-first roleplaying.
For players, it offers flexibility, deep customization, and character-driven storytelling.
For GMs, it supports any heroic action campaign …especially ones where worlds and genres collide!
For designers, we’re building a truly open license, a supportive community, and a best-in-class ecosystem to monetize your creations.

Happy Friday! I'm lucky to be working on a lot of exciting projects right now, but the coolest one has to be Plotweaver.

The system powering the Cosmere RPG, Plotweaver is an awesome, flexible ruleset for a range of heroic roleplaying.

We want this to be the best system ever for OGL creators. 1/🧵

Ever get irked by something? The verb irk comes from Old Norse yrkja, “to work.” In Middle English it meant “to tire or wear”—as if something had worked on your nerves until you couldn’t stand it anymore.

I'm struggling to find a pillow that doesn't leave me in unspeakable pain in the morning. It's gotten worse lately; perhaps just the curse of being a side-sleeper with hEDS taking its toll 🥲

A trans femme of colour with a mechanic arm and a leg rising up into the air above a cyberpunk city. Waves of pink and grey energy swirl from their hands and weave between vertical lines of binary code. A variety of other Trans+ people and standing and seated on the tops of buildings and floating platform. The text reads: ‘Trans in the Machine: Chronicling the New Cyberpunk Canon’. Trans in the Machine is fully funded!

But with under a week left, there’s still time to hit some stretch goals.

The more we make, the more goes to good causes and mutual aid.

So, shout it loud and share far and wide. Post anywhere you can think of.

Truly, roleplaying with friends is a fantastic way to work on real life skills. Shit like debating persuasively, making sales, and promoting yourself are not skills I'd especially enjoy honing in most non-TTRPG formats... but they've all been fun to RP at some point.

Reminder: you are not immune to propaganda. You might be smart, and good, and strong - but if you're still on X, you're still a data point, slowly shifting rightward.

Wikipedia entry for dinkus

In typography, a dinkus is a typographic device or convention that typically consists of three spaced asterisks or bullet symbols in a horizontal row, e.g.   ∗ ∗ ∗   or   • • •  . The device has a variety of uses, and it usually denotes an intentional omission or a logical "break" of varying degree in a written work. This latter use is similar to a subsection, and it indicates that the subsequent text should be re-contextualized. Such a dinkus typically appears centrally aligned on a line of its own with vertical spacing before and after the device. The dinkus has been in use in various forms since c. 1850.[1][2] Historically, the dinkus was often represented as an asterism, ⁂, though this has fallen out of favor and is now nearly obsolete.

How Jennell Jaquays Evolved Dungeon Design, Part 2: The Caverns of Thracia (Continued from Part 1, which looked at the state of TTRPG dungeon design pre-Jaquays. These two posts are cleaned up versions of my two Bluesky threads on the subject.) In Part 1, we reviewed earl…

#Jennell #Jacquays, trailblazing #trans woman, #TTRPG designer & artist, is a legend. This article provides a deep analysis of her first big adventure module, Caverns of Thracia, proving that she is the first truly great adventure designer, and arguably the GOAT.

Also, Terrys seem to be over-represented here? Perhaps the name is somehow prophetic, or charmed. O to be a Terry in the fantasy writing clime of the 80s and 90s.

O for a full-featured language learning app that doesn't use AI.

I almost resubbed to busuu, which I liked a lot, but they're pushing their "AI conversations" feature... and while I could skip it, I'm concerned about AI making its way into the actual lessons.

AI is fucking garbage, gtfo with that.

As much as you hate Gen AI you are not hating it enough. None of us are. We need to do better.

Just unfollowed somebody for saying "all fans of X should be dragged into the street and shot."

What the fuck. is wrong. with you. That's not a cool thing to say because people are (checks notes) playing TTRPGs "wrong"?!

Jesus christ, don't be like that.

My first winter in the Netherlands, and damn is it ever snowing, wow!! Disabled and without transportation, we've been effectively snowed in since Friday. They canceled our grocery delivery for today, which is a bit nerve-wracking - but at least it sure is beautiful...

Star Trek Voyager scene. It's a romantic evening on the streets of a charming little town with I'm sure a folksy name like 'Fair Haven' or something. Ensign Harry Kim, dressed in an overcoat, leans in with a full heart and closed eyes and kisses a large black and white Holstein cow right on the mouth. Two closed captions are simultaneously present: On Harry's side of the screen the caption reads, "(gasps)" and on the cow side of the screen the caption reads, "(moos)".

If you begin Star Trek: Voyager episode Spirit Folk at exactly 11:49:35 on New Year's Eve, Ensign Harry Kim will kiss a cow as the clock strikes midnight. Join in a very dumb annual tradition and start 2026 off on the right hoof.
