I don't have anything against Songstress being added but I need it to A: not be a Ranger job since it'd be cooler to not put all the music jobs in the same role, and B: not have a gendered name. They didn't call Viper "Swordsman" and did something more flavorful instead.

The only semi-evidence I've seen was when they revealed ironmouse was gonna be at fanfest and posted a teaser silhouette of some art of her/her character and someone was like "OMG SONGSTRESS?" before people pointed out the Dancer AF gear. So, not really evidence all things considered.

So why is "Songstress" the most common rumor I'm seeing as a contender for one of the new FFXIV jobs? All I can guess is it's mere"wishful thinking" as there's no shot in hell they add a gendered job to this game (i.e. if Songstress is a future job they'll call it something neutral like Performer).

They really did DS2 fans dirty by making the Majula skybox, lighting, and external landscape look That Good when the actual town looks like it was built on top of a graham cracker crust with unused assets from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. All the glazeposts have the same three angles lmao.

Having a hard time in the kitchen insanity difficulty because the recipe doesn't want you to use all of the Earth's garlic but uh, I'm doing that sorry. How else are you supposed to cook scampi?

Personally I don't think they'd adjust the mm system without announcing it, but the other thing that makes Marathon players alike to Destiny 2 players is that they yell about Thing, which gets changed, then they yell about the Change, so broadly it sounds like nobody knows what they want.

If SBMM was turned on discretely, well congrats; you were right and now you have to accept the fact that players of like skill make for more engaging PvP scenarios than players of disparate skill, and your days of pub-stomping are at an end, so you'll have to adapt like everyone else.

If SBMM isn't in the game, then you have to accept the fact that people are generally better at the game now, leading to tougher lobbies w/ smarter players who make fewer mistakes. A dedicated Free Kit Queue means people will use their gear outside of it, so gear strength doesn't swing as harshly.

At least there were split perspectives about knife strength, but all of a sudden someone has an odd feeling about some lobbies and dozens of posts are claiming SBMM was "snuck in by Bungie."

Why are you surprised everyone is bringing gold shields and high-tier gear into Cryo? That's what it's for.

Marathon players are a lot like Destiny 2 players in the sense that when one them starts soapboxing about Thing, the rest of them all begin to soapbox about Thing. Everyone has to say their two cents about Thing, and that's not unusual, but it's odd that they often start from a conclusion.

"Yeah I don't get it either. She can mine nodes and craft faster than any of the other characters but she can't jump up this path unless you give her a Dr. Pepper first."
"Why are her stats still rising?"
"What the-!...I gotta queue into PvP _now_!"

"You cheated not only the game, but yourself.

You didn't grow.
You didn't improve.
You took a shortcut and gained nothing.

You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained.

It's sad that you don't know the difference." - excerpt from 300 page speedrun.gamer forum thread

Speedrunners when they figure out that they can wrong warp at the start of the game and roll credits thus satisfying conditions to be eligible on speedrun.gamer leaderboards: yippee yahoo by jove we did it!

In Arknights if you're at 6/7 clues and your clue cache is full, when you give someone the clue that makes them 7/7, the bonus clue you get in return should be the one that makes you 7/7 too. Been needing clue 5 for seven years at this point.

Rough idea of how they solve the "marathon implants all look the same and you have to hover over them to see what stats they give and take." Iconography for the stats, + & - on the icons that you gain or lose by swapping out implants. I just used emoji here but obv they'd have their own symbols.

The purpose of holding people accountable is to get them to do better. Their options in such cases are:

A. Do better
B. Do nothing
C. Double down
D. Quit

The ideal answer is always A, every time. People have chosen it before. S.C. picked D. That's where the disappointment should lie.

What S.C. did as a citizen was spiritually dissonant with his work as an artist. The ideal would've been for him to have never donated money in the first place, but the 2nd best thing would've been to apologize, try to reclaim the funds, and if that failed, publicly donate to relevant rivals.

A grown man received at least one death threat for donating money to a machine like that, and you're upset because he huffed and puffed and quit posting online, still likely donating money to said machine to this day, and now you can't find any interviews or reddit posts where he gives his thoughts.
