Alphinaud, Kalha, Estinien and Y'shtola fend off imperial soldiers, aided by Alphinaud's faithful Carbuncle. A soldier lies dead in front of Alphinaud, while another is falling to their knees, struck by Estinien's lance and Alphinaud's spell.

Alphinaud: "This isn't over. Look! More are coming!" Alphinaud looks to the side, and alerts his comrades to the arrival of another wave of enemies. On guard, Kalha and Y'shtola turn to the direction he looks in.

A magitek vanguard, two magitek bits, and four imperial soldiers barrel down towards the group. All four stand ready to confront them, with Estinien and Alphinaud at the front, and Y'shtola and Kalha at the back. Y'shtola: "And there will be more. We may outlast this wave and the next with healing magicks, but we must find a way to break the cycle before our strength is spent!"

Alphinaud turns his head to the side to hear what Kalha has to say. Kalha: "Allow me to stem the tide, then. Stand back!"

While the Warrior of Light heads to the heart of Azys Lla to confront the Archbishop, Estinien, Alphinaud, Y'shtola and Kalha are left to face wave after wave of Regula van Hydrus' VIth Imperial Legion.
