Nice illustration of the reason why diagnosing information preferences is a really important step in both prognostic disclosure and decision making #palliativecare #shareddecisionmaking

Crosstrek!!
Party of the Sun is an indie neo-folk group from a small town in New Hampshire, mellow and dreamy (full disclosure - half the band is my brother-in-law)
Footnote 101: The Court notes that the government described this celebration as the “250th birthday” of the federal government, Defs.’ Opp’n Mot. Prelim. Inj. at 6 [Doc. No. 27], but the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 did not, in fact, create the federal government. Even the Articles of Confederation, establishing a central government, were not adopted by the Continental Congress until 1777. Indeed, the federal government as currently established is more appropriately traced to the adoption of the Constitution in 1789.
I particularly love footnote 101, correcting the government's interpretation of the significance of July 4!
I love adding thin sliced raw fennel to this combo too!
Deeply embarrassing and so so disappointing. Do better Dartmouth.
THANK YOU! The use of opioids for sedation in the MICU is so troubling for many reasons and I'm so glad to see this getting called out.
YESSSS
There's plenty of harm that will be done by the #OBBB - here's one that isn't getting coverage: low income older adults at the end of their lives. #Medicaid cuts hurt EVERYONE. #hospice #PalliativeCare #EndofLife

Thanks to @capcpalliative.bsky.social for adding our paper on the use of PREMs in inpatient palliative to their News Bites! CC: @hexlab.bsky.social

Excited to share new work from colleagues at @dartmouthhealth.bsky.social on improving communication in the #ICU. I especially like the detailed results which indicate which domains of quality communication had the best (and least) uptake! #PalliativeCare

So deeply proud of our team's work here. Shoutout to @macmartinmd.bsky.social for leading this paper. And to @dartmouthhealth.bsky.social for creating space for us to innovate and delivery truly patient-centered care when folks need it most, during serious illness. #hpm
Very very happy that this is out in the world! Proud of our team and our work to push measurement and improvement of #patientexperience in serious illness! #Hapc #palliativecare #hospice
Dr. Catherine Saunders delivered an inspiring Grand Rounds at Dartmouth Heath! She shared patient-centered strategies for measuring and improving serious-illness care experiences, including consideRATE questions and visit agenda-setting. Exciting patent engagement work! 🐝 🐝 🐝
The HEx Lab team is making great progress on the Agenda Setting in Kidney Disease (ASK) Study! Interviews and ethnographic observation well underway! Studying ways to help CKD patients self-advocate! NIDDK: K01DK139400
A system in which social determinants of health are meaningfully addressed "upstream". There is SO MUCH unnecessary suffering that happens as a result of poverty and it's like putting a finger in the dike over and over.
Thank you for replying!
Thank you very much!
Hi #PalliativeCare friends, I'm piggy-backing on #hapc25 to ask a clinical question: For those of you who work in inpatient or #hospice settings AND have access to palliative sedation, are you required to obtain written informed consent before implementing palliative sedation? Would love to know!!
More evidence that private equity and hospice are a poor mix Hospices owned by private equity provide inferior care compared to non-profits across multiple measures
Well-being of our loved one at end of life should not be sacrificed for investor profit

Wrote nearly a full solid first draft of a paper about using #consideRATE in our freestanding hospice and palliative care center today. Excited to share more about using patient-centered experience measures to improve care. #prem #palliative #hpm Go @hexlab.bsky.social
I've fallen off due to stress elsewhere but still plugging away and revising the manuscript I finished this month. You've done amazing work!
ID and palliative care want to hear about your pets!
I love being part of this team! It's a real gift to work with a group of people committed to rigorous study of complex topics like #patientexperience. Also we have a LOT of fun together ❤️ #seriousillness
We're making progress! A lot has changed just in the last decade and I see a lot of reason for hope ❤️
I'll be honest, this is not surprising to me 🤣
Thank you for this link, it represents a lot of my misgivings too even with the differences in our systems for end of life care. What a beautiful idea to think of hospice as a wellness center - amazing reframe of our work! #palliativecare #hapc
Started the day with a great talk by Yael Schenker, and have been thinking about this quote since. We're still not in a place where skilled end of life care is just offered to all who need it, but we're getting closer. I'm grateful to be part of that effort #palliativecare #hapc #hpm
Sent out my manuscript draft to co-authors today! Have a long list of projects to tackle next so now off to think about which one is next 🤔
Big thanks for keeping #NaMaWriMo alive here ❤️💪
