Can authors STOP using "male" and "female" excessively?? No one is confused if you refer to an elf/fae/whatever as a man or woman, or, better yet, not with gendered terms at all!
This is my hot take: "Let people read what they want" should apply to GENRES, NOT specific authors/books. I'll never say anything about someone reading a genre I don't enjoy, but if you keep reading books written by racists/queerphobes/etc I'm going to assume you're also racist/queerphobic/etc
