The Rollright Stones - part of my past. Fond memories of many visits - including a performance of Lords & Ladies - based on Sir Terry Pratchett’s book. 👍

The cow is only wearing wellies on her front legs……no self-respecting bovine would go out sans rear leg wellies 😉😂

A lovely walk yesterday up High Rigg to mark what would have been my dear friend Jamie Normington's 54th birthday. 1st Wainwright of 2026. Snow on Helvellyn range. Toasted his 'wild & precious life' at the top. He sent us a dipper to watch in St John's Beck as we walked back to the car.

No idea where the extraneous ‘v’’s came from in the final part of my post. Still less why I didn’t spot them before pressing ‘Post’ 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Last night I drove Mrs S & two of her friends to Blackpool - so they could see a musical at the Opera House.

I had a chippy tea whilst sat on the promenade at Anchorsholme. Took some Sun-set views. It was hard to tell where the sea ended and the sky began. 1st two are Canon DSLR lastvonevis iPhone.

The powerful, old bigot is not acting alone. He's in power because Congress won't remove him. He's in power because millions of Americans embrace bigotry, hierarchy, violence. His war crimes are being committed by everyone who gives him power and who refuses to remove him from office.

He showed America, and told it, what he was like, how much he was Putin’s stooge, and how little regard for law he has. America chose him anyway (even if only by not voting at all). Congress is controlled by Trump. America is facing decades of ruin, loss, & isolation. The UK heading the same way.

I remember climbing this a few years ago, but no badge 😬 I had a chuckle at the handily placed defibrillator halfway up 🙂

I am fortunate to have a lovely garden in a semi-rural location, and the time to sit in it to watch nature.

It calms me. Connects me. Eases my mind.

I know what a great privilege it is to be so lucky.

I’ll have to read/watch it again now. Source of one of my favourite literary quotes:

“There was nothing dishonourable in not being blown about by every little modern wind. Better to have worth, to entrench, to be an oak of one's own generation.”

Made a ‘fan visit’ to Smiley’s home a few years ago.

11 years ago my nephew & I ran a ‘dunking resilience test’ on various biscuits - via a FB exchange. He from his canal longboat in Cheshire, me from Stratford on Avon. This 👇🏼 was the remnant of a dual test; bourbon vs malted milk. As captured by my beloved late wife Michele 😬

I think hobnobs won.🤔

Is it even fiscally viable to do this? Or are @conservatives.bsky.social just pandering to big oil under the twin facemasks of ‘energy security’ & ‘consumer help’?

Asking for, well, everyone!

Can anyone tell me how the UK could ensure that any new drilling for gas/oil in North Sea results in output wholly for UK consumption at fair consumer prices; NOT sold globally for corporate profit at international market rates? 1/2

Hear from BTO's CEO Juliet Vickery as she shares her love for Dippers on BBC Radio 4's 'Tweet of the Day' ➡️ www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Juliet studied Dippers for her PhD, and spent many enjoyable hours observing them in south-west Scotland. 🪶

Appalling. But there will be no consequences. Putin’s puppet and his mates are stuffing their pockets with $Millions whilst acting as lawless vigilantes. The bullies are in charge; with no sanction by even their own ‘checks & balances’. Rise of the Despots.

Edurne Pasaban Lizarribar (born August 1, 1973) is a Basque Spanish mountaineer. She is the first woman to climb all 14 of the eight-thousanders – and the 21st person to do so. Her first 8,000 peak was in 2001, when she reached the summit of Mount Everest. #CelebratingWomen

If you have ANY financial products with Prudential UK or M&G Plc then I urge you to move them. Prudential continue to be utterly useless in dealing with payment of a whole life policy written 'in trust'. My CEO complaint has been upheld but STILL they throw more barriers up to payment. #prudential
