Yea I got to USC in ‘08 and downtown was a ghost town with one coffee shop and 100 bad BBQ restaurants.

It’s wild how much has changed.

You can tell Claude Code to copy something to your clipboard.

If there's some really complicated script that it's having trouble with line breaks, just say "copy it" and it'll work.

amateur users of AI do not understand how difficult it is to babysit an AI agent while it tries to do something where precision matters.

No freaking way. TIL…thanks.

I’ve probably opened cyberduck 1000 times more than I needed to.

my word for 2026 was "chocolate".

All things chocolate.

dark chocolate with raspberry
dark chocolate with almond butter
dubai chocolate 🍫
chocolate milkshakes

It's been a good year.

I think that’s true. Lots of new problems to deal with.

Do you ever hotfix?

We have a dev environment but it gets used for big feature testing. And then we hotfix into prod for little things.

Deployment is a weak spot for me…curious for what you’ve learned.

Maybe I’m a cowboy but I’ve been running Claude dangerously, with 2-3 instances simultaneously, on the same project for months and it’s been fine.

Agreed. It felt slow.

But Paris was unusually good, too.

I regularly have Claude Code hang, and then I copy/paste the last 500 lines and say “keep going.”

I wonder if that will break too.

Do you say “turn this into a skill”? What’s the workflow to set up

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

You think? I kinda like the feature. Except I missed a day a few months ago that broke a like 3 year streak 🤣

I think this is a big unanswered question. I have a lot of experience with Laravel so directing an agent stays in control.

But I couldn’t direct an agent well in an arbitrary coding setup.

I’m working on a desktop money management app right now and it’s so nice that security is basically not an issue.

I think we’re about to get a lot of this, actually.

Desktop software is about to have its moment again.

Yep. We have 3 rivers, so that was the inspiration. But it definitely has coastal vibes.

Our city flag was adopted out of thin air about 7 years ago and it’s immensely popular.

The key question for city flags should be “do residents choose to fly it?”

it was a good post...thanks for sharing!

What plan are you on? I’m on $100 and struggle to hit the personal limit.

Totally agree!

Yeaaaaa. Pretty sure Andy Reid trades a 4th for Pitts and turns him into a HOF Kelce-replacement this spring.

Bijan and Drake are at the top of their game and it just doesn’t matter -_-

I’m not sure if you’re baiting or not but…

between Dodd Frank, the equal rights act, fair lending practices and the consumer protection bureau…

it’s hard to argue that the regulatory environment is worse for home ownership now than it was 100 years ago.

But housing-as-investment doesn’t work in an era of approximately-zero population growth.

And it’s not like usury was invented in 1995.

One time I read someone say “housing can’t be both affordable and a good investment.”

So I think we’re on the same team…I want affordable, stable housing for my community and I think we should use every tool we have to make sure it’s reality.

4 months ago 1 0 1 0

I’m not trying to shill for capital but it’s wrong to say that “build houses” ignores the investment-consumption problem.

If there were 900% more houses, no PE firm would be buying them up. At some point even they would become unprofitable.

What am I missing here?

it could make sense to make stricter rules around who can buy a home—preferring primary occupants.

But wouldn’t encouraging more housing supply discourage the investment behavior?

Investors buy *because* they think the shortage is durable.
