So please DO get your family history in PRINT, with PHOTOS -- something that will ALWAYS be accessible no matter WHAT tech has become.

she was 79 and thought she was preserving history, but tech had moved on. (When she died, I found the tapes AND her tech to play them on, though with fresh batteries, the tape player had her speaking so fast, I couldn't understand her. Then it ate the tape.)

conjunction with the VHS tape. Then she paid to have multiple copies of both made, and gave them out to family members, half of whom didn't have a VHS player anymore, and NONE of whom had a cassette player. No one ever told her all that time/money had been wasted (and family history lost) because

My mother spent hours and HOURS collecting family photos, having them scanned and put on VHS videotape. Then she used a tape recorder (with unknowingly dying batteries, so it recorded at a SLO-O-O-W speed) to give a history of each photo (who, relation, where taken, etc), to be played in

Okay, now every vid in my feed has been replaced with an error mesage: "An error occurred while loading the video. Please try again." Is this another Bluesky glitch that will resolve itself soon?

. . . is dust in the wind . . . ?

Okay, Bluesky, what's going on? I see a blue '30+' on my notif bell, and wonder what the hell I said to engender such a big response. Then I click on my notifs and there's not a SINGLE NEW NOTIF anywhere to be seen. And the blue number disappered, too. Anyone else experiencing this glitch?

can come out with some zingers! Or really thoughtful answers. Or silly stuff that makes us both giggle. I feel so sorry for those brusque, impatient people who make her clam up, because they'll never know the beautiful soul she is. Sheila, I had a GREAT time at dinner tonight; never laughed so hard!

waiting for her to verbalize what she's thinking. I never rush her or try to guess what she's saying. I'm fine with companionable silence while she gathers her words. It can happen once or twice, or after every question or comment I make. I don't care -- spending time with her is worth it. She

There is a signal my friend uses when she's having difficulty being able to easily voice her thoughts during a conversation. She picks up the salt shaker (if we're at a meal; otherwise, whatever small object is handy) and puts it down in front of her. I smile encouragingly and continue to eat while

It's one of those gotta-go-through-it-to-learn-the-lesson things. Been through several of those myself. Here's to being a better (wiser!) person on the other side! :-)

Ouch! So sorry to hear you're ill. As for age, I'm in my upper 60s, but in my head, I aways think I'm in my late 20s. <sigh>

'Near teens'? Oh, dear, should I admit I was in my 20s? Yep, I've got 'great-grandma' written all over me.

I learned to write VERY simple programs in BASIC mumble-mumble decades ago on my Commodore 64, so ASCII pics were my jam. Sadly, that's still the level I'm at . . .

My senior brain won't remember it, but thank you. <grateful smile>

Ah! Thank you!

For those of us who don't speak ASCII, what does this mean?

For those into K-drama:

PERFECT CROWN has BON APPETIT, YOUR MAJESTY vibes, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it! I just wish the episodes would drop faster!

It asked for my full SSN, then sent me to a human who asked how they could help. I said I wanted to opt out of arbitration, so she texted me a code to read back to her to verify my ID, then she read a long disclaimer, then asked me 'yes or no' to opt out. Said yes & she 'submitted form to opt out.'

We need Melinda Gordon to talk the ghost into going into the light. (Yes, I just finished a re-watch of all 5 seasons of "Ghost Whisperer," why?)

We had to memorize the General Prologue of Canterbury Tales in high school, and to this day, mumble-mumble decades later, I still remember every word! (The above was cut down because of Bluesky's character limit -- sigh)
