I can't say this is what I had in mind when I started working on @arboretum.space, but its been so helpful playing Blue Prince. I can't imagine trying to keep track of all the characters, puzzles, and hints without it.
I explored many different options for developing Arboretum before eventually settling on Tauri, Rust, and React. With v0.1.2, the stack is really coming together to deliver great results.

I'll be having nightmares about debugging startTransition and Suspense for months, but its hard to argue with results.
Arboretum v0.1.2 is a huge leap forward from its last release. Every interaction is faster, transitions more smoothly, and just feels better.
I'd almost forgotten I had this domain
Using Typescript for the user interface with Tauri lets both languages play to their strengths. It's great to have access to battle-tested solutions in both the Typescript UI and the Rust backend.
Shared some thoughts on building Rust GUI applications on Reddit. Choosing Rust has paid off in a lot of ways working Arboretum, but its options for building GUIs leave a lot to be desired.

Arboretum v0.1.1 is out now!
This release includes some significant enhancements to the Connection building algorithm to reduce false positives and resolve conflicts more accurately.
To install the update, just open the app! If you don't have Arboretum yet, download it now at arboretum.space.
There's still a long way to go, but I'm incredibly proud of @arboretum.space as it exists today. I use it every day for planning its future development and the magic feeling when it makes connections for me still hasn't gone away.
