All the base work is done. With new, waterproof backer board, there shouldn't be any more rot in the future, and even though the seams are caulked, I'm going to add a waterproof membrane coating before adding the tile back.
Trial and error, but almost ready for tile. Tbh, it was a lot easier than I expected. Once I have a lot more time, might just redo the whole bathroom.
