Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.
There's just gotta be a line somewhere.
Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.
I'll always remember Kara Swisher's anecdote of going to a Google smart glasses launch party and you switched them on by saying "Hello Google". So all these people stand around saying "Hello Google" and setting everybody else's glasses off. It’s the perfect image to describe Silicon Valley.
This may be a European thing or maybe I don't get out enough, but I've never seen smart glasses 'in the wild'. I've never even seen them on positive characters in American TV shows. Who are they making all these smart glasses for?
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
Elon Musk says universal high income will combat AI job losses, but failing that, his preferred option would be to acquire the AI systems they use in Gaza to help him hunt workers for sport.
Just saw a clip of Bush and Obama and the caption "That’s what presidential dignity looks like" - Dude, that's a war criminal and the man who let him get away with it.
There's an amazing series of talks that bell hooks hosted for the anniversary of her ground-breaking book, Teaching to Transgress.
This is a 2014 dialog she had with actress and activist Laverne Cox. Another panel has hooks & Samuel “Chip” Delany, Marci Blackman, and M Lamar (Cox's twin). #growth
HEARTBREAK HIGH is on Netflix Germany - like, old school Nick, Con, Jodie and Rivers Heartbreak High.
OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit
Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here
Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse
Media and universities: AI is here to stay
Btw: I think that’s a side effect of the structure that a season is a day. We just don’t know him well enough to care. We see him at work, one day a year. It's not 24 (which was awful, but the only parallel I could think of). The stakes aren't quite that high.
This is a big one. Stellar reporting from Sarah Fitzpatrick. To call it a must-read is an understatement: www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
Same.
Joined the Times Tech Report to talk about the dangerous rhetoric spread by Sam Altman and Dario Amodei, and how the AI industry needs to stop threatening people with job loss as a means of hyping their products.

Subtitles have gotten so awful! If you relied on purely subtitles for The Pitt, diagnoses for patients would change every 5 minutes and you'd find so many new diseases.
This looks like a wonderful funded PhD opportunity at Utrecht University on queer writers and artists of the European HIV/AIDS crisis. Deadline 24 April! www.uu.nl/en/organisat...
Nobody really wins or is a 'good guy' in war and specifically not this war. But the Trump people are just so bad at it, so easy to manipulate, so ignorant of the history of diplomacy, so impatient. How do you lose the media narrative against people who just killed 20.000 protesters?
"I don't even know what that phrase means and I doubt that I said that... How I can I answer something that I didn't say... I'd like to hear the recording."
Okay RFJ Jr. Here you go. Here's you caught lying on tape:

Rewatching Staged - the David Tennant and Michael Sheen thing they did during Covid. Such an odd reminder of strange times.
I heard a commentary that Trump may have fucked this week up for Vance intentionally (he sends him to negotiate - unsuccessfully - in a war he didn’t want while publicly taking out Rubio, Vance has a book out on converting to Catholicism, Trump attacks the Pope). Orban was just a bonus.
A few years before the Brexit campaign started, I knew a couple of people who wanted Britain to leave the EU (the reasons were stupid, but at least it was a fully formed argument made by intelligent people) and they would use Orban as one of their reasons. This reminded me of that.
And is this impression because I binge the seasons rather than watch an ep per week?
The more I watch The Pitt, the more I wonder if Dr Robby has a nervous breakdown every day or if that is reserved for the cameras? Because... there are medications.
Tbf, they tried being tough on crime with the Inquisition. It went a bit far. Hence, they've been trying a new direction. It’s almost like the institution is bigger than its current representative.
when i am elected President, i promise to start screaming, one-sided fights with the Pope much more often, but for very different reasons
on CNBC Trump blasts Pope Leo for criticism of U.S. foreign policy 54 minutes ago CNN Trump says Pope Leo is 'terrible for foreign policy' 33 minutes ago Breaking News AP AP News Trump lambasts Pope Leo XIV, extending feud over Iran war with first.. 1 hour ago ^ Axios Trump unleashes tirade against "weak," "terrible" Pope Leo 31 minutes ago New York Post Trump blasts Pope Leo after pontiff's veiled jabs over Iran war,... 44 minutes ago.
Rather than treat Trump’s comments about Pope Leo as deranged, embarrassing and offensive to (many) Catholics, early headlines (and stories) paint it as Trump just bashing back against a political opponent. Truly broken media environment.
11 p.m. "Interview With a Vampire" (1994) Tom Cruise is a soulless recluse who lurks in the darkness and sucks the life from all who come near him. He's also in this movie about a vampire. Showtime.
good morning
