I'm so excited to share the punk-rock-vibes cover for Wild for Austen: A Rebellious, Subversive, and Untamed Jane. The book will be out 2 Sept '25. Thanks so much for your ongoing help getting this closer to the finish line for #JaneAusten's 250th, which promises to be a bright spot in 2025.
Received my advance copy of Jane Austen’s Bookshelf from @simonandschuster.bsky.social. I am so far enjoying @rebeccaromney.com’s take on my favorite eighteenth century writers (and honestly, it’s making me want to reread Udolpho again)
The number of times he’s joined us on a recording, we may need to give him a co-host credit by the end of it.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a podcaster with a cat, well…let me show you.
New Episode! Your Most Obedient & Humble Servant featuring @katyghistory.bsky.social in conversation with Ramin Ganeshram about Janet Shaw, a Scottish traveler who visited revolutionary North Carolina in a perilous moment.
With @gilliansmac.bsky.social as Shaw.

Can I get added? Thanks!
Thank you!
Is it still possible to be added? Thanks!
Delighted to receive these beautiful editions of Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, and Mansfield Park, courtesy of @broadviewpress.bsky for our upcoming podcast. Can’t wait to re-read Persuasion…again
A block of text on a blue background that states: “...Cassandra in her childhood was a good deal with Dr. & Mrs. Cooper at Bath - She once described to me her return to Steventon one fine summer evening... My Grandfather had to go, I think as far as Andover to meet her - He might have conveyed himself by Coach, but he brought his Daughter home in a Hack chaise; & almost home they were when they met Jane & Charles, the two little ones of the family, who had got as far as New down to meet the chaise, & have the pleasure of riding home in it; but who first spied the chaise tradition does not say... “ Anna Lefroy to James Edward Austen-Leigh, Dec. 1864
In honor of Jane Austen’s birthday, let me share one of my favorite childhood anecdotes of her, passed down by her niece Anna Austen Lefroy. It’s thought Jane was around six years old when she goaded her baby brother into trying to meet Cassandra’s chaise.
(Also special shout out to @lizziedunford.bsky.social and @mistykrueger.bsky.social for providing such wonderful soundbites for the trailer!)
You know who Jane Austen is...but do you know who Jane Austen WAS?

Had a great time yesterday speaking to JASNA-DC's annual birthday lunch for Jane Austen! Great crowd came out to hear about the challenges and rewards of trying to recover Austen from the archive. Also, what a fabulous lunch they put on!
