It is basically just one hilariously baffling creative decision after another for its entire 90-minute runtime. While also being an incredibly offensive and disrespectful look at some very serious topics. So yeah... lots of alcohol certainly wouldn't hurt the experience!

Say what you like about Return To Silent Hill, but when THAT song kicks in right before the credits roll, you can't tell me you didn't get chills. Akira Yamaoka really knocked it out of the park with that soundtrack.

With so many little points of reference between the two it's hard not to see a game that is torn between adapting both the original and this movie. I don't really have much to say beyond this but I figured I would take a moment to make good on that original video idea, at least in this small way.

So I was not too surprised to see a less subtle emphasis on substance abuse, James living in Silent Hill, every other character not being real and of course time loops making an ugly appearance. Ultimately, ironically enough, Bloober managed to handle all of these elements better than the film did.

Obviously, with Return To Silent Hill being delayed SO MUCH, that couldn't happen but having now watched the film I feel fairly confident in saying that Bloober took quite a bit of inspiration from it's development, at least in the early stages. Something I had long suspected.

So fun fact, the original idea for the Silent Hill 2 Remake video was a video titled "Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 2 & Silent Hill 2" where I was going to compare and contrast Team Silent, Bloober Team and Christophe Gans' various approaches to the same material.
