To tips for dealing with silly noises during class, from multiple students, but you don’t know who the culprits are.
Silent reading session completely derailed by this this afternoon 😫
Reminds me of the APP shit show of the 2010s
Highlighted extract from book: “What saps the enjoyment from teaching isn't simply that there is a lot to do. It is about the amount and type of work. It is the feeling that my work, it's quantity and type, aren't entirely within my control. It is the feeling that if I had more time and more space to think, I'd be able to improve what I do and how I do it. It's the danger of losing our motivation to teach, because what motivates us has been forced to the periphery.”
It’s arrived! On reading the Introduction, I immediately know this book is for me.
Thank you!
EMAIL management and GDPR.
Our school is bringing in a policy of deleting all emails over 3 months old. Send me your tips for managing your emails.
If I save them as msg files I can’t easily file or search them. Will forwarding them to myself work?
All ready for our @quizizz.bsky.social training!

Pre-ordered! If only the publishers had set an earlier date so I could get stuck into it over Christmas hols ready to put things in place for new year.
Parents evening… anyone negotiated a way to miss it because it’s your own child’s birthday?
We do ours online and they are tutor lead so I’m hoping I can do on an alternative night.

Those AI workload solutions being sold to teachers? They're part of the problem, not the solution #workload https://buff.ly/3M6MDLR #artificialintelligence #aieducation
But are they not being respectful because they’ve been brought up in a society that has lost trust in the establishment and where authority is challenged? Is “being respectful” out of fashion?
On this, if you want to visit a school before interview, are your current school obliged to let you have time off to do this?
I’ve been thinking a lot about respect recently.
We ask for it off our students but many genuinely don’t seem to understand what it looks like, or, don’t buy into it.
During a restorative conversation today a student was convinced that adults had to earn respect as much as students. Is she right?
This is still blowing my mind! 🤯 @PhET + @quizizz.bsky.social = the ultimate app smash! It’s so clean, so easy, and just works!

Screenshot of quadrant game
Made a game using #AIClaude 😁
If your students have their own devices in class, this could help them practice generating random coordinates and correctly placing the quadrat.
(Only works with a keyboard for now).

I’m not convinced the government have either the quality or quantity of data necessary for training a generative AI tool.
Or that teachers want AI to be planning their lessons. Gen AI should be an assistant, never a replacement for human intelligence.
