This is appalling. Other people have covered this much better than me, but the extent to which the list is discriminatory and othering is so horrible. It must be possible to work out which school this is... It's giving off "faith" school vibes for sure.

Britain’s cities are desperate for better transport. Why is Westminster derailing our plans in Leeds? | Thomas Forth A long-promised tram network has been pushed back to the late 2030s – unless we build local, northern growth will be snuffed out, says Thomas Forth, co-founder of tech firm The Data City

RIP the boundlessy great Steve Cropper. With the MGs, he helped invent the sound of Soul. Later, his skill and feel was sought out by John Lennon, Neil Young, Paul Simon, the Blues Brothers, Rod Stewart, everyone. The man wrote Dock Of The Bay, Soul Man, In The Midnight Hour, Knock On Wood...

1 week until #SC25

3 bits of advice:

1. Prioritise shoes for comfort not smart.

2. Find/force downtime during SC. Enough talks/meetings/receptions done well is better than lots rushed/tired/etc.

3. SC is about people as much as (or more than) technology.

I WAS in Lyme Regis recently
and there was a sign that read
Do Not Feed Me', accompanied by
a photo of a scrawny seagull. That's
all well and good, but there were
literally thousands of the fuckers
flying about, and they all looked the
same. How was I meant to know
which was the one in the photo?

I DON'T know why people
say
"it's not rocket science"
as a means of explaining how
simple something is. Rocket
science is fairly simple itself. All
you have to do is make sure that
the thrust the engines produce
is greater than the weight of the
rocket and off they go. "It's not
getting an appointment with your
GP" would be a better phrase, as
this is virtually fucking impossible.
