Happy opening day, Pacers fans. I spent the summer staying off social media and away from basketball in general after Game 7.

Barring any serious injuries (lol) I think the Pacers make the postseason and are a tough out in the first round. Still a roster of grown-ass men who ball.

They are incredible talents who do great work for Pacers fans. As someone who used to be on the media side of things, I know the grind is daunting compared to the rewards.

Their work is invaluable. They should both be very proud.

Haliburton had one of the most impressive post season runs, and played tonight knowing his Achilles was at risk. It ended in disaster, but he still met his teammates while using crutches to stand up.

It’s easy to be cynical. I confess to frequently assuming the worst.

But this Pacers team made me fall in love with basketball in a way I haven’t felt since I was a child.

I’ll never forget cheering for them this season. And I’ll keep doing so until I take my last breath.

A three month off-season isn’t enough time to preparefor 82 games of TJ McConnell’s tunnel vision.

TJ with a lazy pass to Myles when he likely would have been fouled had he just gone up for a bucket.

Pacers picked the worst time to have their first panic attack in the post season.

Scott Foster could fuck up a wet dream.

Thomas Bryant shouldn’t step foot back on the court, and the fact Rick ran a lineup without Pascal or Myles feels very much like an unforced error.

It was 2000 when the Pacers last played in a Game 3 of the NBA Finals prior to tonight, and just in case 25 years doesn't feel that long ago, here's what happened in that game at one point.

Mathurin is so, so good when he’s not playing like he’s seen boobs for the first time.

Serious Game 1 vibes. Pacers hanging around as best they can to give themselves a chance.

The good: Contributions across the board (except Thomas Bryant).

The bad: Myles Turner getting cooked in the high pick-n-roll.

The atmosphere of this game feels like every section is Area 55.
